warning: highly opinionated paragraph to follow.

So, some of you may recall I ordered a few dvds 10 days ago or so. I guess I don't *totally* regret the Denise Austin ones but I don't know if I'm going to be able to bring myself to use them too often. When you guys said her voice was annoying I thought, 'okay I can handle an annoying voice for a good work out'. But it's not just her voice, is it!!! I felt like I was watching a skit from mad tv or something - a parody of a has-been fitness guru perhaps. And as a personal trainer, I would never refer a client to this video (cardio blast) and the use I find in it is that it gives me a basis upon which I can modify, modify, modify. There are tons of moves that are really rough on knees and there is a very condescending tone to both the instruction and the actual steps. Ugh. But, I did do some mods and managed to burn 366 cals in 50 mins. I'm afraid now to try the yoga dvd but I'll give it a go... I just don't want to hurt myself! Hopefully I'll have better luck with my NYC Ballet Work Out DVD.

end rant.

I love her Boot Camp Total Body Blast DVD. Yes, she's annoying and a little cartoonish, but that video got me started! I called her every name in the book for the first few months I used the video.

That's hilarious. Well, I'm glad it's not just me... hahaha

The good news is that I decided to ALSO do the NYC Ballet work out today. WOW!!!!!!!! AMAZING. I've been a dancer for 24 years and I LOVE the strength training ballet offers. I'm not in a ballet class right now (just modern) and this was lovely. But definitely would be tough for people without ballet background. Now I'm happy again with my purchase! HA! Although now I still have 1200 cals I'm supposed to eat and all I have left is supper. Hmm.. Protein shake here I come! lol

I have her Burn Fat Fast dvd and I couldn't do a thing with it! The steps were way too confusing. So it's been in my dvd player once and now it sits on the shelf. And you're right, her voice fives me NUTS!
