Why would it ruin your diet?

As long as it is within your calorie goals....why not eat the bread you like?

do a search for "cauliflower bread"...there's GOTTA be one.
  • I eat bread nearly every day. I would not be able to maintain this change without it... that and my peanut butter lol and I've been steadily losing all along. I typically eat Sarah Lee low cal multi grain bread (45 calories per slice), but that's because I like it and it's easier to fit into my daily calorie budget. If you're craving bread... I say eat some bread! Just not the whole loaf! :o)

I would just like to eat larger amounts than have to limit myself to smaller sizes, I'm just the type of person that would not stop eating it once I started lol.
Hoping that a healthier bread would fill me up more without making me feel guilty for eating to much.

... healthier? they cut all of the good filling stuff out of "low calorie" bread.

work on control and eat what you like.

I don't know of any recipes for low cal homemade bread, but I eat Schwebels Smart Lite Wheat Bread. It's only 35 calories a slice!

Last night I made yummy garlic bread with nice thick fresh baked french bread. I cut a thick slice and weighed it, so I knew exactly what I was eating. Belive it or not, I cut it perfect and it came out to be the serving size. I enjoyed that bread and it was only 130 cals of my calories for dinner. You can do the same.

I think it's definitely important to work on portion control.

That being said, if you want bread for sandwich making, Sara Lee has 45 calorie bread that's pretty good. I've also recently found Arnold's Nature Harvest Light Multigrain bread that is 40 calories a slice. Both I've found do the job nicely and taste good.

If you don't like what I have to say that's fine, sure I might need to work on "control" actually I have ate within my caloric budget for a month now, I am VERY proud of myself. I'm just trying to find better alternatives to what bread I eat now. There is no need to make me feel bad about that. I was just curious to what others enjoy bread wise, sorry if you don't agree with low cal bread I probably should have worded it differently but there still is no reason for you to make me feel like crap.:ohwell:

Healthy lifestyle brand has a 35 cal 5 net carb per slice bread and aunt millie's has a light bread with 6 net carbs and 35 calories per slice. I like Aunt Millie's better and it's easier to find (I get it at Kroger). I like both of those better than any low carb specific bread I;ve tried. Ther are usually much higher in calories and taste too dense and dry.
  • I never made bread before so I can't give you advice on that, but I enjoy Thomas Bagel Thins (110 cal) or ShopRite light english muffins (90 cal)

I can't help that you take a recommendation as some sort of incredible personal slanderous attack.

I'm not trying to make you feel like crap... just making a point that if you're 18 and don't have enough room for real bread in your life, you may have the wrong settings for MFP.

Yes I'm 18 and turning 19 in a couple of days I've gone through cancer and had a hard time with my weight, I've gone through a lot of things that a young female my age has never been through. I live on my own and have a career in healthcare, I'm going to college, so my AGE has nothing to do with my weight loss goals but excuse me for wanting to find a bread that makes me feel less guilty.

I don't have any recipes. But, I like Nature's Own 100% whole wheat. It is 50 calories. And, don't worry--people think they are diet Gods on here. They forget that this journey is different for everyone. Brush them off, and enjoy your lower calorie bread! :)

I can't live without my Marsh fresh baked cheese bread and wheat bread - 70 calories a slice and I work it into my calorie budget. There is no 'type' of food that I can't eat on my diet - I just make room for it in the "budget".

And you're right - your age shouldn't matter - I think the point that other posters are trying to make is that at your age, make sure you've got a good calorie intake going - especially if you're re-cooperating from health issues. Best of luck to you.

could very well have a lot to do with how much you can eat and get away with.

that being said, a lot of us aren't on diets and don't view what we're doing as such.

calm down, it's gonna be okay... maybe sparkteens would be a better fit.

not that I know anything about losing weight, but hey, if you don't want opinions.... don't ask.

Wow. No one was attacking you and you need to realize tone is hard to "read" in text. Perhaps you need to focus on what is being said versus imagining the way it is being said. Or perhaps a forum more dedicated to teens and under would be best for you.

    Best of luck OP.
