does when you eat what matter?

I've heard lots of people say "eat only fruit before noon". Others say "no carbs before noon". All this conflicting information is driving me nuts!
Does it matter what time of day you eat different food groups?
Thanks

No. Food timing and combinations do not matter. If you're lifting heavy, eat something with protein in it after your workout for muscle recovery but for weight loss... no.0

Not one little bit. Your body uses fuel as it gets it. Doesn't matter when or what.0

No...
Look at it from a common sense standpoint...you do have certain times in a day when your metabolism is faster than other times...but overall, if your body requires, for example, 2000 calories in a day to maintain weight, that means your body is burning roughly 2,000 calories in roughly a 24 hour period...why would it make one bit of difference when in that day I consumed said calories?
Also, lots of people say and do stupid ****...weight loss is actually really simple mathematics...but simple mathematics doesn't sell all kinds of fad diets, supplements and pills, shakes, etc. And people in general have a tendency to overcomplicate uncomplicated ****.0 -
For weight loss, no, it does not matter in the slightest.
If you are about to put in a really intense workout, then carbs before and carbs and protein after will allow you to go a bit harder in the gym, which will have positive effects, but it has no direct relation to weight loss.0 -

it makes up about 1% of the overall equation. You're much better off focusing on the 99% before you worry about the 1%.0 -

It doesnt matter, i eat most of my cals at night like 1 hour before going to bed. It only afects if u eat too much late at night and decide to weigh yourself early the next day since the body may still digesting the lots of food u ate last night, specially if u consume more fats.0

Well it does matter to me. It's taken me ages to find the right time to eat the right food for my body and my lifestyle.
I would recommend you experiment and record your own results. Then you will find what works for your body and lifestyle.0
