Calories burnt at work?

So I spend 6 hours a day as a playgroup assistant. I'm always playing with the children, helping them with activities, playing games and clearing up after them. I probably spend about a third to half of the time on my feet. I'm logging this 6 hour session as burning 300 calories but I am still feeling like I want more calories but I'm scared if I eat more I wont meet my goal of 2lbs loss a week which I really want to stick to. Do you think 300 calories burnt sounds reasonable for this amount of exercise? Thankyou.

If this is something that you do (almost) daily, I would suggest you change your activity level to active instead of logging it as a workout.0

I'm just struggling on 1200, this is what i ate at sedentary when I could stick to it (no exercise at all) and was losing 2lb+ a week so i figure with exercise I could be allowed to eat more and still lose. Also I am feeling more hungry being active.0

Many people struggle on 1200 (I know I would). It might be that your 2 pound a week goal is too aggressive for you.
Pounds per week
75+ lbs to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs range
If you plug in a less aggressive goal ....MFP will give you more calories .....if you increase your activity level.........MFP will give you more calories.
I agree with above posters ....this is not actually exercise, but a change in activity level. Sedentary is for people who ride a desk all day (like me).0 -

Your post is really interesting as I too work In a pre school setting & like you say you are on the go much of thet time . I asked this recently & got varied opinions like you have . I would increase your activity level & your calories & monitor it - if you are still losing I'd continue . I intend to do this when I return to work after surgery .0
