Progress of a different sort

When I buckled down and started to take exercising seriously, I didn't want to just lift. I used to mountain bike ride often. I have a good bike and decided to start using it. One of the great trails around here is called Lebanon Hills. The loop is roughly 9 miles. First attempt took me 2 hours and I skipped all the more difficult obstacles. Today I shaved 30 minutes off my ride and rode every obstacle in my way. My cardio has slipped a little, but this is still a great time for me. Plus I took shots of my ride.
Not exactly I have lost 10 pounds...but I am pretty stoked.

Sounds great. I have also started peddling and I am adding distance everytime I ride. I am slow, but I enjoy the ride and I try to take time off of each trip. Hang in there and all of your hard work will pay off in a big way!! :drinker:0

That looks great, I miss off road riding, but stuck in Tokyo that is not going to happen much
What kind of bike you you have?
Great work on reducing you time, your fitness certainly has improved!
Cheers!0 -

Great job!
I walk a trail here at a local park that's like that. It has very steep inclines and tree roots and all sorts of stuff like that, plus it's narrow and one wrong move would send a person pretty much down the side of a mountain. (Well, not exactly a mountain, but you get the idea.)
I see people biking on it and I'm always so nervous that they're going to die. lol0 -
That is great to hear from a fellow mountain biker. I ride a Fisher, too! It's a 29er.0

I love the 29ers capabilities. It's also full suspension so the roots and bumps that used to bother me are no longer much of an issue. I really feel like it can ride over just about anything and that I'm limited by my own mental blocks.
The negative is the weight. It's a stocky bike. I can't complain too much as I actually won it in a raffle in 2009.

I'm jealous too! I'm currently without a mtn bike. Sold it about a year ago and have missed it ever since. It was a Trek. Not a high end model, but I had a blast on it. I currently have my eye on a Specialized Stumpjumper, hardtail, 29er. Saving my pennies. Until then I do love my roadie (Cannondale Optimo).
Cool trail, btw. where is that? Happy pedaling!!! :drinker:0 -
