Has anyone tried this diet? My Dr. Told me to try it but I wasn't sure if I wanted to. Anyone have results from the South Beach Diet?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20's. I was bigger than I am now, but it was one of the triggers that started my weight loss the first time.
I did use South Beach as my only source of food restriction/diet. I was RELIGIOUS with it, minus eggs, which I cannot eat. I started at 225 and ended up down at 160.
I stayed on it for over a year and kept the weight both down & off, but couldn't get below 160. I was in between a size 6 and size 8. (I am 5'7" with a medium frame, so the ideal weight for an ideal BMI tops out at 147 or 148). A lot of stuff happened in my life, including frustration that no matter how well I ate and how hard I exercised, I couldn't drop the rest of the weight, and I started eating whatever I wanted again. (which brought me back up to 206 over the course of a few years)
I feel South Beach is a good idea, but was not sustainable as a lifestyle change for me. I was SO SICK of salad and seafood by the end I could barely touch it.
I did not notice any change in how my body reacted at the lower weight with my PCOS. So it didn't improve, but it didn't get worse either.
Good luck if you try it! It's really not that bad!0
