I started noticing that I get back from my jogging sooner. I know thats good news as my body is getting use to the exercise. But when should I bump up the distance to my jog? Or instead of going farthur, maybe add 5lb weights to my wrists so I can get more arm workout in? I know I can put those on my ankles, but I need to do some type of arm workout...two birds one stone?
I've been going strong for a month now and I just don't want to burn myself out. Yet I have to do it all at once because I already know I won't do something else later in the day.
Yesterday I even ended my jog with lunges since it makes me stay out the full 50mins. Those were killer! So I might do that every other day or twice a week but it did help me get my full workout time in.
Thanks!

Just go a little longer (farther). Keep adding to the distance gradually. Maybe 5 minutes per run every two week. Add another day if you feel up to it.0

I would do your runs based on time rather than distance --- run 50 minutes no matter how far that is. Over time, it will get farther and farther.
I would never do leg weights --- I'd be worried it would mess with my form and lead to injury. Same with arm weights for me, although others may disagree. For me, it's easy to make running a good workout --- I do longer distance, tempo runs, strides, hills, intervals, etc. I do strength training before running rather than try to do both at once.0 -
Agree with time > distance.0

No to wrist or leg weights - very bad for your joints.
Go longer, or faster, or over tougher terrain. Or mix those up each day.0 -
Thank you all for the advice!
No to the weights, didn't think about the balance and possible joint issues.
Just need to figure out a new route to keep me out there longer and gradually add...
Thanks again!
