 I'm a new member and I need all the help and motivation I can get! I've been working out since June 24th and I've lost a total of 13 pounds since then but didn't lose anything in September so my trainer encourgaged me to join a calorie counting site. My friend suggested this site and I must say that I like it quite a bit!

Welcome. It is a great web site.

I got back into cycling about 5 years ago, and lost 30 pounds. Had been there ever since. This year, I decided to cycle a lot and lose weight. I ended up losing nothing until I joined this web page and counted calories. I joined 8 weeks ago, and have lost 16 pounds. Found out I was doing everything right, almost. I ate the right number of calories on days I rode my bike, but was way over on the days I didn't ride. So, eating less on those days has basically caused the weight to come off.

I had set my goal at 2 pounds a week for the first 4 weeks. Lost 4 pounds the first two, then was stuck. Changed my goal to 1 1/2 pounds and it started coming off again. Since I eat below by goal calories each day, I was eating too little each day. After a couple weeks it caught up. Now, at 1 1/2 pounds, I am actually eating a bit under and losing 2 pounds a week.

Good luck. Find a group to chat with. Mine is the cycling group. Find one doing what you do for exercise and use it for motivation.
