And the last straw was...

Hi all!
Name's Corinna & this is my 2nd round with MFP.
Last time -- well, it doesn't matter because it was all excuses & me not being ready.
And now, almost 30 pounds heavier with an upsetting, yet strangely motivating, picture to document how wide I actually am, I want to take the steps forward. I'm hoping I have the courage to post that offending photograph on here someday, because it genuinely was the very last straw for me. Something in my psyche broke from just seeing it -- and maybe it will be alongside an "after" shot when I next view it.
I have a new diagnosis of hypothyroidism that I'm struggling with, and it would be amazing if there were some like-minded individuals to share the experience of extreme weight-loss with. I'm around 300 (a little over) pounds now -- which I consider an "extreme" on my 5'3" frame. It would be fantastic to reclaim the health of that ever-active gymnast that I used to be.
I wanted to make sure I was sticking to it this time for longer than a few days before I actually requested the support and help of a few inspirational friends. Soooo... 2 weeks later and a week's worth of logged food and genuine exercise, I'd love a few pals.
Thank you! Good luck to everyone!!

Awww Hun. That's what did it for me too. I saw a full body pic of myself and couldn't believe it was me. I was thin once. I had a flat stomach once. I wasn't in so much physical pain at one point. Now sometimes I look at my body and I'm just like holy crap. What did I do to myself. I hide from everyone. I don't like to go out with my friends. I feel so huge that I some times wonder how my body could ever be small. With time though, we'll get there....and those terrible pictures of us will just be memories of the great strides toward our goals that we've made. We can do this!0

Welcome! If you want to learn more about hypo, feel free to join the MFP group: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/753-hypothyroidism-and-hyperthyroidism
It's good to know other people are fighting that same uphill battle, and that others with the same condition are finding ways to succeed. I started at 300 and I've made it down to 235 so far, but I've got a long way to go.
Just remember to take what you read with a grain of salt.0 -
Thank you ladies so much!
You're both beautiful and incredibly inspiring with your words.0 -
Hello! I have hypothyroidism and PCOS myself, both of which make weight loss a big struggle, so I totally understand what you are going through. Good job sticking with it this time, and I hope we can all be lots of support to you on your journey!0

One day I went to the dr for a physical, he said everything was perfectly fine but when I hit the scale it made me say nope nope nope 334lbs no tank you. Even though nobody told me hey lose weight, specially my very unsupportive ex. I just started running everyday and I'm up to 112lbs lost0
