Low calorie/carb bread?

I rarely ever eat bread these days but next week we'll be on the road and will
be packing our meals for 4 days. Does anyone have a decent bread they can
recommend? It's for deli sandwiches. We're taking lean turkey and swiss
cheese .. I was hoping this would be smarter than having a Subway ??
If you have knowledge of easily found breads that might work, please share. :)

Sara Lee 45 Calories and Delightful bread isn't bad. It's 45 calories and something like 9 grams of carbs.

That sounds pretty good but is it paper thin? I know
    I shouldn't complain, huh?
  • I love to eat sandwich thins (100 cal. 22 carbs.) and bagel thins (110 cal. 24 carbs.)

I guess I'm asking .. is there still substance to these breads?
I might be living in a fantasy to think I can have it both ways. lol

Tried for a year to find a decent gluten-free or low-carb bread. Totally failed - they all suck.

    I'm no longer gluten-free nor low-carb.

I make my sammiches with pita pockets, fewer calories and less mess because 3 of the 4 sides are sealed. Meats are good, so are things like peanut butter and jelly. You also might want to try english muffins, there are some really good high fiber ones and they're good for sandwich sized meals.

Just forget the bread. Our "sandwiches" are meat, cheese, and mayo rolled up, or sometimes wrapped in lettuce. Delicious! Seriously, unless it's real bread (i.e. baked that day, no preservatives, etc), I don't eat it. And, now, when both my husband and I try a sandwich, we both think the bread takes away from the flavor of all the other good foods in it. But "low-carb" carb products are BS.
  • The Sara Lee 45 calorie wheat bread is actually good. My picky husband even says he prefers it.
