peeing

Ok...I'm going to ask this question...how do you people drink so much water and not have to pee ALLLLLLL the time??? Don't get me wrong - I try to drink a lot of water, but my job is such that I have to have someone (my boss) come in for me to cover while I go to the bathroom. It's annoying and embarrassing and I feel like a child...so I don't drink as much as I should. AND I can't drink anything after 7:00 pm or I will be up peeing during the night...which in turn will set the dog barking and wanting out. It's a vicious cycle! lol Sooooo I guess I'm looking for advice - or hints - or something. And please don't say "wear Depends." :-)

I found at the beginning it was the same thing for me...but my body got used to it.

I never get up at night anymore and my trips to the bathroom are limited as well.

There are still some days when feel like I am camping out in the bathroom, but they are pretty few and far between.

Agree with giving it time. As you rehydrate your body, it will stop releasing all the water right away and you'll have to pee less often. If you're properly hydrated, you shouldnt have to pee at night if you drink past 7.

You don't need to drink huge amounts of water. You need to be hydrated which is easy to see. If your urine is pale yellow, you're good. You get lots of fluids from the food you eat and drink. Water has no magic weight loss properties and drinking too much can actually deplete your body of vitamins and minerals that it needs. The whole 8 glasses a day and 1/2 your body weight is broscience. Drink as much as you need to feel well and save yourself the embarrassment.

Thanks everybody! I'm right on track with the pale yellow - and I've been drinking quite a bit for about 4 months (when I got back on the wagon after falling off - hard)...so I'm not really sure about my body needing time to adjust. Maybe I'm just old - lol.

By following this advice I can now get a full nights sleep. And I'm still losing weight.

Yup, I have to pee every hour, all day. Try adult diapers!

I worked at a company that made adult diapers. The management wore them to baseball games to avoid long lines at the bathrooms. I'm just sayin'!

I have to pee all the time. I can't stop drinking water! I sip on it constantly. My body hasn't gotten used to it in the sense that I don't pee all the time, but that's probably good, lol. I really do drink a lot. It has to go somewhere :D

    ^ Me too haha

Watching TV with the hubby one night, I went at the beginning of an episode of The Voice, and then again near the end. Luckily I work from home, so going potty at any hour isn't an issue.

You're probably drinking too much water. The 8 glasses a day thing is not hard science. I pretty much sip all day long and let my body be my guide as to how much I need. I too end up having to pee about 3 times before I can fall asleep at night though. lol

  • You may just have an overactive bladder. My daughter laid on my bladder through the entire 3rd trimester, so my bladder muscles weakened, on top of that, I have an overactive bladder to begin with - you dont even want to know how much I have to pee! And if I drink coffee, FORGET IT! lol
