Paleo diet, yet bloated???

Hello everyone,
So recently I have started the paleo diet ... i am carefully watching my calorie intake .. I am on a very strict diet!
in the past I have eaten healthy and always workout out. I did perviously let myself go and gain about 5lbs, I decided to get back into shape, my goal it so get a fitness model physique! when it came to foods I ate heathy fats but to much rice, pasta, and bread so for quicker results i decided to do the paleo and cut all the grains out! my biggest problem was i never drank enough water! I did not drink soda, juices, or alcohol.. just not enough water!
with this new diet plan i am made to drink a LOT of water, which of course my bodies not use to! as well as train 4-5 times a week fast cardio and weight lifting!

NOw my problem is after about 5 days of being on this diet my tummy should feel empty and I should have lost at least 1-2lbs.. but actually its the opposite. I am not sure what is going on but i am so bloated every morning when awaken my stomach is bloated yet I am starving, in fact all day it stays bloated even when I am sweating all the water out yet still extremely bloated!

my question is why am I bloated? how am I bloated on this diet and all the exercise? is it because of the water? because my bodies not use to all this water? do I need to exercise more? or am I just stressing to much over this? I mean I know my body pretty well and when I get on a strict diet i am normally empty in my tummy and all tight.. right away after like 3-4 days. but not this time!

Changes in diet can cause bloating. Our bodies do not like change, even good changes at first, and worrying about it doesn't help the bloating either. It's only been five days. Take it easy and let your body transition.

You can also try isolating foods - stopping one food a day to see if that helps with the bloating. It could be a particular food, but it can still be the overall change that's doing it.

You're probably getting a lot more fiber than you were before...also, it's only been a week...you body requires some adjustment period.

There really isn't one universal definition of 'the paleo diet'.

And, in general, regardless of what you eat, if you eat too much, you'll still be full/feel bloated/gain weight.

Are you eating lot more veggies and fruit? They can cause bloating too at least when you first start increasing the amounts.

It's probably gas. Touch your toes repeatedly to help move it along.

Broccoli, brussel sprouts, brocoli slaw, and cabbage all caused me to bloat! Maybe try eliminating any of those "bloat" causing foods. Try the FODMAPS paleo diet..google it!
