Avoid the RANTS & listen to the RAVES!
Personally, I avoid the negative rants and look for people who travel that high road.
Survivors motivate me, success stories motivate me, surrounding myself with people who love life and are full of laughter, motivates me.
I've learnt that I motivate myself!
Creating a ‘Fitness Bucket List’ and crossing off those items, motivates me. Finding healthy great tasting foods really motivates me and of course, watching my clothes get lose and the numbers from my measurements and weight decrease, motivates me!
It’s so important to maintain a healthy balance.
I've learnt I can stay 100% committed to myself, without becoming obsessed with it. I gauge my improvements and abilities by looking at myself and how I've improved. I don’t need to be done first, faster or comparing myself to anyone else. I just need to keep trying to beat my own personal bests and keep track of how my body is changing. I don’t need someone else to keep me committed, I am owing this – while I enjoy the company of other people who share the same drive!
My motivation….
Feelings of well-being & sense of vitality
Desire for energy – performing more effectively in all aspects in life
Enjoyment of the exercise – keeping things fun while I continue to push myself harder, testing my endurance and new strengths
Sleeping better – feeling alert and awake during the day
Being relaxed – great stress management strategy
Weight management – it is more than what I aspire to look like; it’s about feeling confident with a higher self-esteem, feeling healthy and able!
Positive feedback – surrounding myself with positive well balanced healthy energy.
Very few comments light up my day like someone saying “you got this girl”, “you’re doing great” when I’m pushing myself through a hard workout, or those sporadic comments when out of the blue someone says, “wow, where did your bum go?”
I haven’t reached my goal just yet, but I am well on my way. I can honestly say that I’m succeeding and enjoying my body a bit more with each day that passes!
I know that it’s not just about those numbers on the scale. It’s so much more than that…. But that number goal is still important to me. It help fuels my motivation… but it doesn't control me or this journey I’m on!
68 lb weight loss goal, 38 lbs gone… and 30 lbs to go!

Awesome post! This part especially is something I am working on: "I gauge my improvements and abilities by looking at myself and how I've improved. I don’t need to be done first, faster or comparing myself to anyone else. I just need to keep trying to beat my own personal bests and keep track of how my body is changing."
** The thing that motivates me the most is "when my brain tells me I can't so something and my body proves it wrong---if that makes any sense at all.. lol" Because of my Fibromyalgia, my brain often tells me I will hurt myself and it is too hard, I am extremely proud of myself when I can push past that and prove my brain wrong.
You are doing an amazing job! Keep up all of your hard work. I am proud to be one of your friends0 -

Fantastic post! I'm just getting started on my weight loss journey, but much like you, that extra energy and feeling good is what has been keeping me going. In the past few weeks I've noticed that I'm sleeping much better and getting a lot more out of my days than before. Now that I'm avoiding those fast food lines and making most of my meals myself, my wallet is getting bigger while my body is getting smaller!
Congratulations on your loss so far, you're well on your way!0 -
Love your post! Thank you, I needed to hear(read) that...I'M only on day 2-but for some reason I feel I can do it-this time. I think I've found a "program" that I actually have to own. If I'm not honest about what I'm actually putting in my mouth and documenting, then who am I kidding? Thanks for adding me as a friend0

Great attitude! What motivates me is feeling more energetic, fitting into clothes I haven't worn in over 10 years, and climbing hills a lot faster on my bicycle. Little compliments from my wife don't hurt, either!0
