High Protein Snacks on the go

I've learned through some of my research that for my body type (apple shape/carrying most weight in stomach and upper body), a high protein diet works best. I tend to snack on carbs--mainly fruits and veggies, which is not a bad thing, but Im trying to find ways to get more protein in between meals.

I found this article with some great high protein snack suggestions: greatist.com/health/high-protein-snacks-portable

Any other suggestions for "easy" high protein snacks? By "easy" I mean one that I can pack to go.

I love the little Chobani Greek yoghurt tubs as a portable protein hit -- the flavoured ones are super convenient and pack around 12g - 14g of protein each (off the top of my head!). However, I prefer to get a plain one for 17g of protein (and way fewer carbs/sugars) and mix in my own toppings -- usually berries

I've also been digging roasted chickpeas lately. I get them in these little 25g snack packs, which have about 6g of protein each. Not too bad for a snack which (for me!) is a completely satisfying substitute for any potato chip cravings

Chobani or Oikos greek yogurts are great as stated above (12-14g protein each). String cheese is another good one (lowfat 2% is usually 50-60 calories and 7g protein)

Nuts are good as well but they are higher in fat and calories, so you have to keep the portion small. About 180 calories for 7g protein.

You can also make your own protein bars. I make mine every weekend to last all week. Several scoops of protein powder, peanut butter, rolled oats, honey, a little cocoa powder, mixed with skim milk, roll into bars and roll onto crushed flax seed on wax paper. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes, and they're set. All natural with no junk in them like store bought protein bars.

sites like www.rippedrecipes.com have easy and delicious recipes (u can search for ingredients/keywords u like or protein count, etc) and then make those or tweak them- i make things like apple cinnamon protein muffins and they are a yummy on the go snack.

other than that my snacks are usually quest bars and fruit

    - Cheese sticks
    - Jerky
    - Make your own protein bars (or buy them but they're usually full of trash)
