How was your FIRST week of Insanity?

I'm thinking of starting Insanity next week. But I'm totally scared the workout will kill me! Haha
I've talked to some people, who said they hated the whole work out, but the results are amazing, so they continued to do it.
If you've done Insanity, how was your first week?
How many times did you think you were going to die/pass out?
Did you stop half way through the workout at any point?
I just want to know what I'm letting myself in for! haha

I lost 3 pounds my first week of Insanity.
That said: the first time you do the fitness test, you will likely be very tired and possibly uncertain about your ability to do the program. It's OK. My roommate did the warm-up for a workout and thought that was the whole thing. (She hadn't exercised in a long time.)
What I'm saying is: It's hard. But it's amazing. It's perfectly OK if you take breaks during the workout. Keep your form. Don't try to keep up with the machines working out on the video if you can't keep up. I would recommend NOT quitting halfway through, though... just rest until you can join in.
I completed the first week of the second month, (with a break this week; I had my wisdom teeth out, so I need to take it a little easier). I was NOT prepared. There is a lot more upper body strength in the second month. My friend who finished it assured me that by the end of the second month, it will be... if not "easy", at least "easier."
I think it's a great workout program and can't wait to get back into it next week.
(Incidentally, I have NOT kept up that weight loss pace. I'm back to 0.5 - 2 pounds per week.)0 -
hello
I just completed month one last week and this is my 'recovery' week. When i first started i thought id pass out/ die! lol! it was tough, had to stop loads. by the 3rd week i could keep up and not stop! keep pushing and it gets easier. there is an excellent thread about people doing insanity and offers a lot more motivation and support. I also added friends doing insanity so that we could motivate each other. Dig deeper (as shaun T says) and it gets easier! good luck0 -
I laugh every time when I see a post like this because it reminds me of how sore I was the first week of Insanity. I was very fit after doing two rounds of P90X but an all Plyometrics workout knocked me on my *kitten* the first week... I remember pulling into the office parking lot one morning and having to hold on to the cars as I walked! Not to scare you, everybody is different and your body does adjust very quickly, mine did.
It is a great program!
Good luck!0 -
I started it on Monday. It sucks. But I just a had a baby and am way under my ability. I can't seem to finish a dvd session at all. I have been trying to break up the workouts to play 3x per day. I think this is too advanced for me right now. With that said, if you exercise regularly and are ready to push it to the next level...Insanity is for you! Good Luck!0

Haha, thanks everyone, it doesn't help my nerves but I'm sure I'll deffinatly give it a go starting Monday!
I've looked at all the workout clips on youtube and thought 'There's no way I could keep up!'
But I've seen such great results I just HAVE to give it a go!0 -
Hello fitnesspals .!:)
So this is my first week of insanity and I have to say this is so insane that even my bf is proud I have gone so far as four days and keep doing it everyday. I havent worked out in a while, and at times I cant keep up with the workouts idk if I am the only one , but I try to push myself without hurting my self. Sometimes I feel little discouraged but I dont wantnto quit b3cause at tye end it feels good to keepndoing this .if anyone have dones this longer and has tips or and advice I would love to hear it..!:) thanks you guys and happy workout0 -
I've just finished my first week of insanity and I'm not going to lie, it's tough, but it's not impossible. As other posters have said just take breaks when you need too and push through. Remember though, do not sacrifice your form! Keep the core tight as Shaun T keeps saying. You're better to take a break if you're going all wobbly! I wasn't keeping mine tight the first couple of work outs so ended up with back pain but that's better now!
It is a challenge but mid week I started to loosen up and I'm having such a buzz when the workouts done!
Be prepared for sore muscles, I was walking like a chicken for two days but after cardio recover you stretch out nicely and it really eases!
Good luck and enjoy0
