Heading on vacation tonight and I need some recommendations. I read just about any genre.

Some of the last few books I read that I really liked:

600 Hours of Edward (and the sequel Edward Adrift)
Palisades Park
Water for Elephants

The Game of Thrones series will last you awhile! It starts slow--it took me about 5 chapters to really start getting in to it and then I read all 5 books in a month!

The Postmortal by Drew Magary was pretty good. Not deep thinking or anything but a fun read.

Gone Girl or other Gillian Flynn books are more fun, quick reads.

I teach middle school so I read a lot of YA-the Hunger Games series is good. So is The Fault in Our Stars, Speak, and 13 Reasons Why.

We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.

    Room by Emma Donaghue

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is one of my all time favorites!

Ooh! And the Strain trilogy by Guillermo Del Toro. SOOOO good!

The last book I read was "Slim For Life" by Jillian Michaels.. I know it's not a novel or something of that nature, but it was super informative if you're looking for something of that nature. :)

Clive Barker's Books of Blood, if you don't mind horror, and can tolerate gore. There are some great short stories in those collections.
  • Anything I can get my hands on.Sue Grafton, Dan Brown, Janet Evanovich, Love anything by James Patterson, his books are really fast paced too. If you just want a relaxing frilly read the Robin Carr series Virgin River is good & the Last Chance series by Hope Ramsey is light & funny. Like I said I read anything

I will read anything from James Patterson! One of the best crime/thriller writers in my opinion. I just finished, Kill Me If You Can which I thought was fantastic.

I also love Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer. Easily one of my favourite books.

Also recommend The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series. They are brilliant.
