Does anyone know of any good brands for low-calorie cupcakes? I am trying to make green-velvet cupcakes with pink frosting for a "The Walking Dead" theme party next week

Pick a flavor of cake mix. Pick a complementary flavor of soda (1 regular size can). Add ONLY the soda to the cake mix, and bake! If it's a no- calorie soda, you will only have the calories from the mix itself, which saves you some serious calories for the frosting. You might want to try a lemon/lime soda with some green food coloring in a white cake mix for a green cupcake!
  • What a great idea. Would love to attend but being in Australia would be a bit difficult. If you make cupcakes, go the whole way it's only for one night and it sounds like its going to be a great night. Enjoy and get back to the diet the next day:)

Eh, I make regular cupcakes from a box (using box instructions, 24 per box) with icing made of vegetable shortening and confectioner's sugar - they have like 250 calories -- low calorie enough for me.

I like the way you think Amy Schintler :)

You could just make them from a mix and make some kind of low fat cream cheese frosting with pink food coloring.
