I feel happy and have fun shopping for good things to make meals from but dislike most of the "added value" stuff that is sold on the basis of saving me time. I have time to sit in front of a screen don't I?
Acquiring the skills required to buy good ingredients, and cook them till they're gorgeous is so important to me, and for the others who eat what I've made.
Who's using this weight loss/healthier lifestyle thing as an opportunity to reconnect with food in a more positive way?
Love to hear positive stories here.

Before I started my healthier lifestyle I paid no attention whatsoever to what I ate, as I couldn't cook. So others would always be making food for me.
But now that I've learned how to cook, I love to look into all the ingredients I have and then experiment with different combinations.
It's great to come up with new recipes, even though they don't always taste as good lol. And with the calorie tracker on this website it's easier to decide what you can and can't eat, then tune your recipes to that.

Herbs are my favorite to experiment with.

Definitely! When I first started, I always thought that spike day would consist of junk food for me, but I am finding it increasingly disatisfying to eat junk food and so now I actually start planning a lovely meal to cook instead! I enjoy it so much more and definitely can taste more flavours xxx

For some time now I have been trying to reduce my intake of processed preprepared foods. This means more cooking of course and at first I was cooking quite complicated recipes, now I find i am eating less complex stuff and tasting the food more. I am loving the flavours of food and I am enjoying things like beetroot salad with herrings and potatoes, sounds bizarre but hey! I live in France and have been introduced to combinations that I would not have entertained in my previous life. My salad dressing takes some beating! And I have a spoonful on grated carrot as a starter.... Lush! Beats prawn cocktail hands down!

Soups are now less cream of, and more veg of! And most stuff is from my garden so yummy fresh! I am at a bit of a crossroads tho, at a plateau now- i don't do low fat anything and I have been enjoying smaller amounts of good tasting stuff BUT maybe to kick my weightless back on track I need to consider eliminating yoghurt etc from my diet or to replace them with tasteless 0% stuff gulp, oh I don't know??????

I don't cook very often but when I do, it's generally some kind of chilli - I never make the same recipe twice, and almost always use fresh spices and ingredients. It makes me happy and people who eat it mostly don't die :-)

The rest of the time, since starting on this journey, I've been trying to eat stuff that is without extra junk, but still convenience foods (like Innocent veg pots, smoothies, etc).
