Two week binge.

Hi!
So, a little over two weeks ago my family came to visit me and from that point on I have pretty much been eating to the point of feeling ill every day.
I feel horrible and bloated, and my new jeans wont fit, and dresses are tighter, and I really think I look physically larger, (noticeably)
I am too scared to step on the scale. Before this happened I was so close to my goal weight!!
Any tips on what I should do to get back to where I was and how long this might take?
Oh, and, how much damage could I really have done in two weeks??
Thanks.

Don't step on the scale for a while. You ate too much - obviously. You ate for the wrong reasons, and it sounds like in a pyschologically unhealthy way.
Wait for a few days for your body to re-equilibrate to the healthy things you're going to do with it TODAY. Go back to your old routine. You'll lose the extra water, you'll feel better, you'll clear out your bowels.
After a good week or so, then weigh. Tomorrow's another day. It doesn't matter what you did. It matters what you do now.0 -
get on the scale and face the music. Get your food in the fridge and get back to it. Just jump back on track. You'll lose a big number the first week if you just get cracking. Remember..success is all about getting back on track not staying on track..because everyone falls off track.
Two weeks isn't that long... just do what you know you need to do. You're in control. :flowerforyou:0 -
We've all been there... Just go back to eating right, drinking loads of water and exercising. Stay clear of the scales for a week our so don't dishearten yourself. You've been successful with your weight loss before you can get back there again. As for damage you've probably gained a few pounds but nothing you can't shift again.0

I agree. It's obvious the number is going to affect you badly so just avoid it. Get back to doing what you have to do, drink as much water as you can and hopefully you will flush out some of the water weight.
Since your profile isn't filled out and you didn't log consistently its pretty hard to guess how much you 'gained'. You had some pretty big days BUT you would still have to eat 3500 OVER your maintenance calories to gain a pound.. Maybe you gained a couple but it's not the end of the world. Get back on the wagon and you will be back to where you started in no time.
I took a 3 week vacation in August - gained about 8 lbs according to the scale. It's already gone and I've lost more on top of it so obviously it wasn't 'real' weight. Don't panic!0 -
Stay away from the scale, eat healthy, workout and the weight will go away.0

I agree with elisa123, you need to step on the scale and *kitten* the damage! This seems to be the most effective way for me to get back to healthy habits. When I notice that I am slipping up, I can talk myself in believing that I am not actually doing any damage, then boom I step on the scale, and 5 lbs have crept up! While I understand it is scary, sometimes its the only way to convince ourselves that we need to make a change. Of course, that is just my opinion and that method works for me, good luck to you, I know you can get back on track!0
