Hello all,
I am getting a tonsillectomy next week and my doc said i have to stop my WODs for at least 2 weeks. I am just finally getting full speed into my routine and noticing visible results on the daily, and I was wondering if any of you have any advice on what I can do during my recovery period not to lose muscle tone? I will be limited to broth and water for the first week, and after that I will be graduating to pudding-like textures . I am not allowed to have dairy at all. Do you have any tips or personal experiences? Thanks in advance!!!

I had mine done when I was 23 and it knocked me on my *kitten*. I was limited to lifting no more than 20 pounds for the first week and than slowly was able to do more. My advice is to work out hard until surgery, than give your body time to recover. Listen to your doctor and heal up. You woun't lose all your srength if your take two weeks off. Better to come back 100% than battle a longer recovery.0

I had mine out 2 years ago (age 36) Honestly working out is going to be the last thing on your mind It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through, even worse than childbirth and c-section. I would say to take care of yourself and heal then start at your routine once you have healed up. I actually lost 10 pounds when I had mine just because I couldn't eat and felt terrible. It took about three weeks for the really bad pain to go away then another few weeks to swallow and not feel any pain.
I don't mean to sound discouraging but honestly healing is the most important thing. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or need advice0 -
I really appreciate your honest responses. Thank you so much0
