Does anyone have a conversion formula that converts with some accuracy Nike+ Fuel Band calories (which are based on all-day activity whether sitting at a desk and/or walking briskly or running) to MyFitnessPal calories?

excellent question. please somebody with the answer.0

It would seem you should subtract your TDEE and you'd have the extra calories burned.0

I've been trying to figure this out myself. There's not a lot of information available. What I finally decided to do was take my BMR and set it as my calorie goal. At the end of each day, I add my active calorie burn. I just created a new exercise called Nike+ FuelBand and record that with my FuelBand calories at the end of the day. It's the only thing I could come up with but I would love any suggestions on how to use it more efficiently.0

Would also love more info on this. Use MFP and Nikefuel religiously, but they don't really talk to each other Any sort of hack would be well worth it0

I use Nike+ and would like my walks/runs to link to MFP also.
Also, what do you do with your "NikeFuel" points I get when I exercise? Or are they worthless?0 -
I found this website: http://blog.anthonyball.com/post/26929577276/how-to-convert-nike-fuel-into-calories
He suggests 2.79381443 units of Nike fuel in a Calorie. If anyone else can test or find out more, I am definitely interested too!0 -
I've been researching the same topic. Found a site and she said she called Nike and that response was a 3 to 1 ratio. So 300 fuel points = 100 calories. But it does seem the 2.79 is more accurate so that is what I'm using for now.0

Nike fuelband 'calories' are not really accurate in any way, shape or form. I have worn a fuelband for the past 2 years and it is PURELY an activity measure based on a made up ' nike fuel' formula. For example, I did a 30 mile bike ride and only scored 65 fuel points...so based on that alone, the calories shown for the day is totally invalid and not true, as it hasn't recognised the bike ride.
Whilst it does award fuel for running, it is a hopelessly inaccurate number. ONLY an HRM will give you some idea of the calories you have burnt during exercise. if you want to know your sedentary calories, then try looking up your TDEE.
But if you are treating nike fuel as a measure of exercise calories to offset at eating to a deficit, you might as well use random numbers.0 -
I use a fuel band for cycling and it records it fine - i was quite surprised. But I did 63 miles on a road bike on Sunday and it recorded about 9000 points.
Maybe it depends on how firm the ride is? On something with suspension I guess it may not record any movement.
Have you got the latest firmware update from Nike on the fuel band?0 -
I to get nike fuel for cycling more so on the road bike compared with a dual suspension bike.
If it's accurate? I don't know end of the day it's a bit of fun to make getting out and moving enjoyable !0 -
After looking into this and doing some research (http://support-en-us.nikeplus.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/38254/p/3169,4027,4033), it appears the calories that the fuel band "count" are only calories burned through activity (whether sport based or general walking/activity). As such the fuelband does not calculate calories burnt during resting periods, etc. This implies that you can add an activity on MFP that burnt the nike fuelband calories (these calories can be seen on activity screen on "fuelband app") , and as such this assists you in taking into account the activity captured by the fuelband when using MFP.0
