Oh and I don't wear anything for men
I'm about to get married and he loves me no matter what I'm wearing, even if its a potato sack
I dare you to test this theory.
If i had one, I would.
You don't buy potatoes?
Nope! I always have big plans to cook them and then they just get weird and grow things
I hate when that happens. :frown:0 -
Yeah, skirts or dressing with leggins and boots is a good look for fall too.
ETA: Leggins are NOT pants.
But a tunic/Extra Long sweater and leggings is super cute!
As long as you keep your bum covered.
Correct.
And honestly I'm become more accepting of the "leggins as pants" movement but I still don't fully approve.
I assume this thread is now about clothes.
I really like this sweaterdress
I'm thinking with some leggings and boots. But not the boots that model is wearing, cause blech.0 -

I haven't seen potatoes in a burlap sack in a long time.... but I do have a picture of one of my high school friends wearing one.0 -
I love these jean. Super comfy and look great on a curvy body.

ok OP, you're 5 ft..... so tell me this:
WHERE do you get boots that aren't too tall??? Every boot I find doesn't hit my leg in the right spot. Given I have HUGE calves too, I had to buy super wide calf boots last year and they looked so stupid. Of course NOW my calves are small and I can't wear them but I think the height thing is still going to be an issue with "knee high" boots.....
HELP!0 -

I was just thinking a normal plastic potato sack or one of the mesh ones.0 -
Curves are sexy, wear your skinnies with boots, it'll look great,
I will! Just wish it was cooler out so it looked more appropriate. Wearing boots in 85 degree weather is sweaty
haha yea true, get a pair of thin dress pants, jeans are a bit to warm, as for the boots I hope their not fluffy winter ones lol0 -

I wear leggings as pants. They look good on me too.0 -

I always had trouble finding them. I have 2 pair. one is about mid calf and more of a cowboy style. I actually got them at goodwill for about $6. They look like this.

My other pair is wide calf from DSW and they are just below my knee. I got lucky with those cause my mother in law bought them0 -
Go for big boots. Doc Martins or motorcycle boots. Volume at the bottom will balance wide hips.0

Yeah those boots have got to go
I bought a dress like that a few years ago from Victorias secret, but it didn't taper in at the waist at all, so it just looked like a big box and showed none of my curves.
And those boots look like they're constipated.0 -

Drats! lol Well if ANYBODY else knows then PEOPLE share the wealth of knowledge!!! lol0 -
I wear skinny jeans- the Rockstar Superskinny from Old Navy, boots in the winter, wedges in the spring. Sometimes I feel like my hips, etc, are too big to wear skinny jeans so like a pp said, get a nice flattering shirt to go with themok OP, you're 5 ft..... so tell me this:

My sister in law is 5'1" and gets her boots at zappos or 6pm.com, even Macy's has some nice boots for bigger calves0 -
If I can put my two cents in; I have NEVER cared much about body looks/weight etc except for a woman's face. It is kind of a deal breaker and is the pinnacle of my sexual attraction at least...
The whole 'hair color' thing (blondes blondes hurr durr) is so stupid it's sad. So called breast size is also irrelevant to me. Of course different strokes you know, but personally I would just go easy on the make up and SMILE.0 -

I too share your struggles of dressing my curvy body.0

Women of any size can rock skinny jeans and boots, as long as they fit properly. I am a big gal with a big butt and a pear shape and I love my skinny jeans.0

I wear mine with flats and flip flops all the time.0 -

But it's not the bigger CALVES part that's the problem. It's the SHORT person problem. Boots are made for average height people so they hit like a couple inches under the knee..... I'm 5'2 so they hit THE KNEE and look funny.0 -

I would check at DSW especially the clearence section. That's where mine are from. You may get lucky becasue they have sooo many different styles. I've never found any at the usual places like Kohls, Target or JCP.0 -

I'm really genuinely stumped as to what this has to do with the OP wanting to know if skinny jeans with boots is something other curvy women wear. Not everything is about looking nice for some dude nor is every post about clothes about attracting men.
^^^ Agree. I don't dress for men. If I was dressing for men I'd probably just wear yoga pants....
Then you could take from his post that just because you have big hips does not mean you can't pull off the look. As in it would not bother him.
AGREED! with the above - i was thinking how did this nice thing this guy said get turned into a negative0 -
I'm very pear shaped and I won't wear skinnies, they make my thighs and butt look huge.. and I'm a size 8 in jeans
So am I (25" thighs, 41" hips, 29" waist, 35" bust). My thighs and butt are huge. Boot cut jeans aren't hiding them. Might as well wear the skinnies.
Wow, you and I have the exact same measurements!0 -
I have the same issue with wide hips, I don't like how I look with boots and pants except I find I can be comfortable if the pants are black or dark. I tend to find continuous lines of dark color are the most figure flattering.0

Go for big boots. Doc Martins or motorcycle boots. Volume at the bottom will balance wide hips.
This is a great idea. Also hides cankles if you're wearing a skirt.0 -
Ive been told from fashion professionals to wear short cloths bc I have nice and long legs and so I could distract from hips.
always heels.
if you got big boobs choose tops with not too much stuff infront like flouncy
cleavage yeah
my current fav: skinny tight leather pants, ankle boots and a wide loose fitting cool blouse0 -
I found a great website to help you pick jeans - I can't wear skinny jeans either because I am NOT skinny, I am curvy. Buy jeans that suit your body type and they will look fabulous on you. I recently bought some Kut from the Kloth jeans that I get compliments on my *kitten* all the time in And when I lose this 15 lbs I am splurging on some nice ones.
