can weight loss make me sick?

Its been almost a full year of dite and exorcise for me. I started at 147lbs (I'm 4'10 if that matters) and now after 10months I am at 109 I was dropping weight at what I thought was a fast rate. On a good week I lost between 3 to 4lbs otherdays it stayed the same. I propbably don't eat more then 1000 calories a day. Since I lost a lot of the weight my period had became regular rectly back in august but this month I didn't have a period I am a week late no pregncy symtoms but I read somewere that if your underweight then you don't have a period because you body doesn't think your fit enough to have children. So I guess the whole question is am I lossing weight too fast that its going to make me/is stopping me from having a period?

Please help.

Oh p.s its not like I am starving myself to loss weight ether I never eat a whole lot of food to begin with because I am almost never hungry. I did replace all the bad food with healthyer options I even started getting organic foods. Every once in a blue moon I get taken out to eat but even then I don't go all crazy.

You need to eat about 1200 as the lowest possible. Unless being watched by a doctor. typically they want you to loose 2lbs a week. I remember when I lost 10lbs in 1 week when working with a nutritionist. She freaked out and upped my calories because that was way TOO FAST.

I would suggest eating maybe an avocado.. Very healthy and 250 calories for 1. Helps me whenever I am WAY low on calories for the day :)
  • Yeah sorry about that I'm don't have a computer at the moment and am doing this though my phone. I take vitemen supplaments.

The reason your missing periods is because YOU are NOT EATING ENOUGH!!!! Your body needs fuel, whether your hungry or not!!! See a doctor ASAP!!!

Chronic malnutrition can manifest as a depressed immune system and missed periods.

You're not eating enough and have been losing weight too quickly. Eat more. Seriously. You are putting your health seriously at risk.

what you describing are symptoms of malnutrition. I would get some blood work done to determine just what exactly is missing aside from the periods and after that perhaps consult with a nutritionist to see how to diet 'better'.
