Is this normal?

I've been using MFP for 2 weeks now. I started at 156 lbs but I already lost 7.5 lbs. I'm worried that I'm loosing it too fast. I eat all my calories (including exercise calories) and I sometimes go over my daily amount too... Should I be concerned?

    How much are you eating? Assuming you're eating a healthy amount I wouldn't be concerned. There's no way you lost 7.5 lbs of fat. Most of that is probably water weight, which is completely normal when you first start to *diet*.

    I'm eating around 1400 calories a day. That creates a deficit enough to lost 1.5 lbs a week.

    1400 calories a day at 155 lbs, what height? My gut reaction says you're in a good range. When you start dieting without much of a change in exercise, you tend to lose weight quickly in the beginning I've found.

    I'm 5' 8". My exercise is usually running/jogging 2-3 miles at least 3-4 days a week (weather permitting) and biking at 7-8mph for 30 minutes, 5 days a week.

    Is this the first time ... or the first time in a long while ... that you have been attempting to lose weight? Have you cut out a lot of starchy or salty carbs from your eating plan? Have you set accurate information into your setup on MFP? >>>> All that being said, no,... 7.5 pounds in 2 weeks of a new nutrition plan intended for weight loss is not too fast. However, if you are ending each day within just a small difference of you Net Calories and continue to lose this quickly going forward, you might want to check your plan with your doctor's nurse practitioner or a nutritionist. .... Or have a friend here who has more experience look at your food log with you. Good Luck. And ... if you continue to be worried, it's always best to check it out with your doc.

    Yes I cut out a lot of carbs and salt once I began dieting.

    Give it a couple more weeks and see if it slows down, it's probably just a shock to your system that results in water weight lost.

    That being said, at 5'8" and ~150 pounds, I think you can raise your calories to losing 1 per week instead of 1.5.

    It's probably mostly water weight, and you will not continue to that much every week. You should change it to 1 pound a week though since you don't have very much weight to lose.
