Leading experts in the field of chemistry have made it clear that a calorie is not equivalent to a Calorie.

A calorie (cal) is the energy needed to raise the temperature of one gram (g) of water by one degree Celcius.
A Calorie (Cal or kcal) is the energy needed to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water be one degree Celcius.

This means that one Calorie is equal to... brace yourselves ... 1000 calories! :indifferent:

    With all the folks who can't manage to spell a simple word such as "lose" correctly, the proper use of Calorie and calorie is just a drop in the bucket. If they never made it past grade level spelling, I'm sure science was out of reach and is considered dark magic.

    so i eat 1,430,000 calories yesterday, oh whoa explains why im so fat, ok so i can only eat 2 calories a day to lose wieght, Challenge Accepted

    I'm okay with that, as long as the 680 Calorie burn on my swim this morning was really 680,000 calories. :)
