Hi! I know this may be a dumb question. But. Anyone have any good menus to follow or where I can get one. Ex: Breakfast Lunch Dinner examples ? I guess I'm looking for a regimented way of doing this. My own way does not work! Thanks in advance.

I structure my day by planning what I'm eating a day in advance. Even if some plans change, it gives me a good idea of what wiggle room I have so I don't overeat. Maybe this will help?

I bought a seasonal cookbook. It gives me recipes to work with for winter/spring/summer/fall and I love it (after all Martha is the man!).

But really it is easy to create your own menu. Use something like skinnytaste.com or cooking light to use as a base and just create a menu around that. Give every day a theme, like Meatless Mondays, Taco Tuesdays, etc.... Once you have a good base of recipes that you and your family like you can form your menus around those meals that you really enjoy.

Personally I like changing my menu up, so I rarely make the same thing twice.

I understand the need for a regimen. I've been searching for premade plans that would work for me, but in the end what's worked so far is to have a few breakfast/lunch/dinner ideas and a lot of healthier snacks around. Then I just track absolutely everything all day long and try to hit around 300-500 cals per meal plus snacks.

I'd suggest with starting with foods/meals you like, and looking at ways to adjust them (i.e. cutting fats, calories, adding veggies/fruits). For example, I have a fairly basic recipe for meatloaf I've used for a number of years, but changed up the type of meat (only a portion now of ground beef, the rest is ground turkey, chicken, and/or pork), added more fresh ingredients (fresh herbs instead of dried ones), and more chopped veggies. I also cut back on the other ingredients (less ketchup, one egg instead of two). For one initial serving it was roughly 400 calories; I now have it down to about 250 calories per serving.

If you are okay with mix-and-matching your own menu from a recipe database, I'll recommend Eating Well: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes_menus

They have lots of really delicious recipes, complete with portion size & nutrition info. They also plenty of good recipes that come in under 500 cals, if that's what you're after: http://www.eatingwell.com/nutrition_health/weight_loss_diet_plans/diet_meal_plans/eatingwell_s_500_calorie_dinners
