Finally! My Success Story! One Year Later! PICS

It took nearly one year for me to loose over 60 pounds and surpass my goal weight. My fitness pal is amazing! I am so grateful for it and the amazing people on this board! I also had the support of family and friends and I couldn't have done it without them either.
I set my goal as higher then I actually wanted since I had little faith in my ability to loose weight. And it was an uphill battle. I have several autoimmune issues that literally made every lost pound a gem. I would loose a pound every few weeks and it was incredibly discouraging. No matter what I did, it did not change how my body clung to every ounce. But I did stick to it. Even though I wasn't loosing weight, I knew that I was doing the right thing for my body eating healthy and it was the least I could do since my body was already so sick.
After SIX MONTHS counting calories I started loosing weight. Slowly. 5 pounds here. Then 10. Then 15. Before I knew it I had hit the 9 month mark of my new healthy lifestyle and hit my goal weight as well. Now I'm a month before my one year mark and 20 pounds below my goal weight. Never thought this would have ever happened with every obstacle I've had in the past year. I'm so grateful for a website like this especially since now, my husband is using it to participate in a work bet (who can loose the most weight before Christmas!) and hopes to get into a healthier lifestyle too!
Starting Weight: 185
Ending Weight: 116
Measurements: Bust - 35 Waist - 25 Hips - 34

Wow! You look great! You also look like a much happier person! Great job. I especially applaud you for not using your autoimmune issues as an excuse and just going for it! I'm in a similar situation and I just have to remind myself I have no excuses I am my own success!0

Thanks everyone! I appreciate it so much! Since I've gotten a few emails asking about tips or the secret (of which there really is none I assure you! lol!) I thought I would just post these five things I came up with!
1.) No snacking after dinner. If I am absolutely ravenous I make it an incredibly healthy snack which means it grows out of the ground and has a stem!
2.) I stopped all fast food. Even when I was in a hurry, I figured out ways to make fast meals healthy. There are always way around taco bells and Micky D's! Even counting calories and figuring it into my daily calories, I noticed a difference when I cut that junk out entirely.
3.) I LOVE baking. But I more excuses to bake for other people and less excuses to have things at home.
4.) Yoga and cardio dvds are my go to for exercise. I love the 10 minute solution DVDS since you do as much or as little as you want. My two favorites are: 10 Minute Solution Yoga and 10 Minute Solution Carb Burner. But they have other great ones like kick boxing, pilates and target toning that are awesome! If you have netflix and a wii you are set because they are all on your instant queue!
5.) Keep going. You are going to have bad moments. You are going to go over your calories, go under. Its life. Don't beat yourself up. I'm one to talk, but I got back up on the saddle. My body apparently despises me and does everything to self destruct. I have had 5 strokes and have multiple other health issues and this was the ONE thing I wanted back under control. Took a while, but its finally there. You can do it. Don't give up just because it takes time. Most things worth something take time... )
Thanks everyone! Feel free to email me if you want! ) God bless!0 -
