Hi everyone,

This is my first day on mfp, and I need loads of encouragement and motivation
I would like to lose approx 50lbs
I have tried loads of diets but have always put more weight back on than I lost.
I am also type 2 diabetic and should be carefull what I eat but I do not have good willpower and do live a sedentary life.
I am hoping that this site will be the one that changes my attitude to food and exercise.
I live in Glasgow which is renowned for having one of the worst diets in the UK.
I think we also have the highest rates of heart disease and diabetes, so I will have to work extra hard.
I will be grateful for any help and advice I can get.
Its great that I can use this application on my iphone as well as my netbook, which means I have it with me all the time.

    Welcome. I have been on MFP for 3 months, starting my 4th. It's the best decision I have made in many years. I have lost weight with diets many times before, but it was never a lifestyle change. This time is different; it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Good luck on your weight loss journey. Please feel free to add me as a friend; we can help motivate each other.
