Savory Breakfast Ideas?

I am not a morning person by any stretch of the word. Even more so sweet oriented breakfasts make me feel so cruddy in the morning I wouldn't touch a protein shake or fruit smoothie at least until noon. Do any of you guys have any breakfast ideas that are more savory? Right now I'm on this kick where I'll make toast add an over easy egg and top with salsa. Soo good! How abut y'all?

I hate cooking for breakfast/brunch, so I make a crustless quiche (any recipe you like) once a week and heat a portion in the microwave. For me, easy and yummy trumps variety. It's a controlled portion, full of good fats and protein, and low carb.0

All those ideas are great! Boiled eggs would be perfect for when I work mornings and quiches would be a great alternative to something muffin-like!0

I tried this the other night and had it for breakfast several mornings! It was wonderful and 1/6 of it was enough with a cup of coffee to keep me full all morning!

Again, this one is tweak-able a gazillion different ways. I used canned pumpkin in one and it was tasty. You can use applesauce if you don't mind the extra sugar. Just google it and you'll find all sorts of versions.

I LOVE breakfast so always have a bunch of ideas. 1st I buy my bread whole and slice very thin, to (a) save calories and (b) get it really crunchy and satisfying. Some of my favorite toppings include mashed avocado and cottage cheese or mashed avocado, a thin schmear of cream cheese and a dollop of hot pepper jelly. LOVE a breakfast burrito using whole wheat, flax small wraps - egg, and whatever veg I have in the house - tomato, lettuce, cukes, shredded carrot, sometimes a chicken sausage patty ground up, sometimes cheese, broccoli or asparagus from last nights dinner - you get the idea. I make my own individual packs of oatmeal by tossing 1/2 cup oats w/TBSP dried cut-up fruit like blueberries, mango, cherries, a dash of cinnamon and turmeric (anti-inflammatories) and I don't miss the sugar. I boil eggs on the weekends and store in those cup sized re-usable plastic containers complete with a dash of salt and pepper. This morning instead of wheat wraps we used lettuce cups. YUM!! Another savory is plain greek yogurt w/fresh dill and cubes of cucumber w/a dash of pepper. VERY REFRESHING. If I'm making chili or stew for dinner I always make cheddar, dill biscuits or jalapeno, cheese corn muffins (no sugar in my recipe) and always make extra for breakfast the next day.0

I'm a savoury morning person as well... sometimes I cook up a batch of Mini-fritattas in muffin pans on Sunday ; eggs (two whites to each yolk), mixed with sauteed onions, a small amount of "real bacon" bacon bits, red bell peppers, and raw spinach in muffin tins with a pinch of parmesan cheese on top then baked in the oven for about ten minutes or until risen (like muffins). I cool them then divide them out into ziptop baggies and pop them in the freezer. Grab two in the morning, microwave warm and eat on toast or tear them in half and wrap in a tortilla with salsa... delish. Sometimes I warm one or two up over a small amount of pre-cooked quinoa.
Often I just bake the eggs; spray non-stick spray into muffin tins, break an egg into each one, sprinkle over a tiny bit of lite cheese and bake at 350 degrees for about 7-10 minutes. Pop them out and make your own healthy McMuffin with a thin slice of ham or smoked turkey on whole wheat English muffins.
I also boil up several eggs on the weekend, peel and eat with toast and a few slices of thinly sliced ham... also yummy and filling.
On cold mornings, a single-sized unsweeted packet of oatmeal with a handful of fresh (or frozen...pull them out and let thaw overnight in the fridge) berries is good (but I always crave an egg afterwards anyhow!).
I often just eat a smaller portion of leftovers from dinner the night before as breakfast; lean protein, rice, and some veggies. My co-workers think I'm nuts, but I'm not eating for them .0 -

I'm on the same page - I can't really do a sweet in the morning. I discovered morningstar egg, cheese, and sausage biscuits. So friggin delicious! Plus its quick.
Buuuut - if you don't like stuff like that then I'd go with english muffin with poached egg, cheese, and bacon..... or... english muffin with avocado salt and tomato...0 -
I used to make a meat crust quiche that was quite savory.
1 lb. ground sausage - press the sausage into a pie plate like a crust. Make sure you go up the side of pie plate and make it thin because it's going to shrink up when it's cooked. Bake it at 375 for about 20 minutes.
Whisk 7 eggs and add in whatever veggies you want. I do onions, spinach, peppers. Add your choice of spices - usually garlic, s&p for me. I don't use cheese, but if you do, add a cup of cheese but reduce you eggs by 1.
When the 'crust' is done, remove it from oven and our out any extra grease. Our your egg mixture over the top and return it to the oven for 25-30 minutes. I would make it ahead of time and grab a pice from the fridge every morning.0 -

omelets, i take whatever leftovers are in the fridge and mix and match to make omelets. If i make tacos that week, i use taco meat, peppers, cheese, ect for a mexican omelet.
Otherwise mushrooms, peppers, cheese, onion, green onion are all good in omelets and you can add any "breakfast meat" if you want some of that.0 -
My wife invented something in college that she calls a "Super Sandwich". Crack an egg into a small ramekin, no need to scramble it. Nuke it for 1 minute, along with a slice of deli ham. Toast 2 slices of bread. On one slice of bread, spread some butter. On other slice, spread some cream cheese. Put the egg on the bread, cover with the slice of deli ham, then with a slice of cheese. Assemble sammich. Eat it. So delicious.
You can substitute the slice of deli ham for bacon if you want.0 -
I make egg burritos or sandwiches. I just scramble an egg and microwave for 40 seconds, then add cheese/ham/sausage, and roll in a tortilla or put on an English muffin. Or I just make some scrambled eggs with peppers and sausage. You could probably put that in a tortilla too.0

My every day go to is a mini bagel and three pieces of pre cooked bacon with a mug of tea. I don't have much time for anything hit or fancy! I hate sweet breakfasts as well! They make me feel awful!0
