Hi all--
I've had weight issues all my life--since my teen years in any case.
A year ago today I entered a pedometer based study at UCSF in San Francisco. The goals were very clear. Work your way up to walking 12,000 steps per day, respond to a phone app twice per day, eat 1500-2000 calories a day, lose 10% of your body weight and lower your fasting glucose level.
One year later I've lost over 30% of my body weight, walked the 12,000 steps per day--I live with my fitbit, logged in to MFP and tracked all my food for 365 days, walked a zillion steps, run a 5K, completed the Couch 2 5K program, and have another 5K scheduled for November 15.
I can/t thank MFP and everyone for the support and accountability enough. This has been sustainable and life-changing for me.
I'm not at my goal weight, but I'm getting there....and am hoping to reach my goal weight by the end of the year.
I don't have very many pictures of my "before." But, here is one:

And here I am in June running my first 5K:

(Not, sure if the pictures will work--not quite sure what I'm doing there. LOL. If anyone can help, that would be great.)

Calories: 1500-2000
12,000 steps per day
Curves 2-3 times per week.
Thank you all!
Ann
