Walking in the rain

I have been walking about a 1/2 hour every night after supper. What does others during the rainy months of the year? I don't belong to a gym, but I have been able to get better control on my weight by walking after dinner. I walk after dinner because I'm Type 2 Diabetic and it helps with my fasting glucose numbers.

I just put on my rain gear. A breathable waterproof nylon shell jacket with hood and pants keep me nice and dry. Northface is the brand I have but there are tons out there. Under that, I just wear layers according to the weather. For shoes, I just continue to wear my running shoes with wool socks such as Smartwool™. I do have to dry out my shoes when I get home though.
In the winter, I substitute the nylon shell for a soft shell jacket and continue the layers with my base layer being merino wool. By the way, I usually walk about 8.5 km and that takes me a bit longer than an hour and half so you will be just fine if you are out only a half hour.0 -
I just got back from an hour and 15 minutes of running in the rain. It wasn't really cold today so I just wore my regular gear and had a hot shower afterwards. Get yourself a breathable rain jacket and keep walking!0

Ask for an umbrella for Christmas (or whatever upcoming holiday you celebrate)?0

I use an umbrella or if it's windy and rainy, which is quite miserable, I walk at the mall.0

Leslie Sansone walking videos are awesome. I do them when it's -20 here in Minnesota. You can choose different times to walk.0

Put a coat and had on. Problem solved0

Three steps to prepare for walking in the rain:
- more stretching to increase flexibility
- a nice full sized umbrella (definitely not a "pocket" umbrella)
- re-watch Gene Kelly taking a walk in the rain
Also good:
- a walking companion who likes seeing you in a wet shirt0 -
+Gore-Tex jacket
+Outdoor Research Seattle Sombrero (Google it)
+Good pair of Keen's
Never carry an umbrella, they're for rain wimps and amateurs.0 -

it rains quite a lot here in Florida.. I try my best to go in between the rain or do some yoga inside, depends. Walking at the mall makes a lot of sense and rain gear but don't use an umbrella, it can attract lightning.0

I always thought I was the only one that liked to walk in the rain! I love the rain. It's beautiful. Smells like nature. I wish it rained even more than it does and I'm in Washington state for crying out loud.
If it's rainy, I go out and walk. If it's rainy and super windy and stormy and it looks like I'll get hit by a lightening bolt in the middle of my walk, I go walk at the mall or the store. One of my favorite places to walk is Costco. I could get my 10,000 steps there alone. Too bad I'll come outta the store with a full shopping cart and an empty wallet0 -
I put on a rain jacket and walk in the rain. I have a Labrador that needs a lot of exercise so I cant flake out if its wet out. I walk her for an hour or two daily, rain or shine or -20 with ice on the ground.0
