How to log food on third shift working hours?

I have moved to third shift (9 pm to 730 am) and I dont know how to log my food or when to start my actual day. Do I log food from morning to night (split it up)? or night to morning?

I used to work nights at a semiconductor fab and my hours were 6:00 pm to 6:30 am. My "morning" started at 3:00 pm, "lunch" was at 9:00 pm and dinner was at 3:00 am, so I know what you're going through.

There are two ways of doing it, both of which I tried on Weight Watchers. First, you can tweak your local time zone so that MFP thinks your day starts at a convenient time for you. For example, if you live in the Mountain time zone and set your local time to GMT, then your day would reset at 7:00 am local time. I was not a fan of this because it messes up your dates.

What I preferred was just putting my "breakfast" into the lunch slot, my "lunch" into the dinner slot, and my "dinner" into the next day's breakfast slot. The nice thing about MFP is that you can rename those slots to whatever you want. You can also add two more meals than the default breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Remember that it doesn't really matter when your day starts and ends in the system, as long as you consistently hit your goals.

    Good luck!

I would log from midnight to midnight but I don't think it really makes a difference how you log as long as you log consistently the same way each day. Best wishes!

I would do it from when you woke to when you slept again all on the same "day" even if in reality it was 2 calendar days.

I work 11 PM - 7 AM and this is how I do it, works well.

I have meals named 12a - 4a, 4a - 8a, 8a - 12p, etc. in my food diary because not only do I want to see when I tend to eat/over eat, but also because of my work schedule I don't tend to eat at "breakfast" or "lunch" time.

ugh I'm about to start my week of night shift orientation. I think the first day will be weird and I may eat too much and not sleep enough but for the rest of the week I will consider from when I wake up until when I go to sleep my "day".
