Losing weight for Christmas

Well everyone just a few questions to ask. I'm 180 pounds at 5'10 which is overweight. I was thinking I could aim for 165 by Christmas, is that realistic? Im given up drink and will try to stay away from it until Christmas. One thing is before I put on the weight i used to take a total calories intake of perhaps maybe 2200-2350, which seems ok. But when i started putting on the weight i was snacking a lot at night time especially maybe 3-4 glasses a milk, crisps, white bread ham and cheese which was perhaps an extra 700-1000 calories a day. I have now cut out the snacks at night and taken away possibly 600 calories from my previous diet along with the addition of 500 extra exercise calories per day. my two questions are, is 2 pounds a week realistic? and when i cut the snacks at night out will that contribute to more weight loss and im taking in twice as less calories as i used to be or does that only apply to weight gain? Thank you very much .

15 pounds by Christmas will be hard work but is definately within your reach if you work for it.
Sounds like you have a good plan with the eating and exercise, so with a little motivation I can see you doing really well
Not sure I fully understand your second question though? Sounds like you are meaning you are cutting about 1500 calories out of your daily diet which will fully count towards the loss.
Good Luck!0 -
You can definitely make improvements by Christmas, looks like you know what lifestyle changes you need to make and things you need to stop doing to lose weight. Can you lose that much weight by X-Mas? Maybe.. Just because you recognize what is wrong, can you stop doing it? Maybe.. And lastly just because the numbers are there for you to lose weight, does that mean your body will let you lose the weight? Maybe...0

Thanks everyone for the responses, im male btw. I checked there and weighed myself lost 2 pounds so down to 178 after my first week. so 13 more to go in 10 weeks, i feel that is definitely doable.
Sorry i meant that if i werent to diet and ate my normal food, went back to burning 1500 calories a week through exercise but still gave up my snack at night would i still lose weight? is 165 pounds good for a 5'10 22 year old male?0 -
one last thing is it ok to maybe eat 1500-1700 calories a day for 6 weeks along with exercise for 6 weeks? will this slow down my metabolic rate in such a short space of time? was going to increase to 2000 or so after to lose a pound a week for 5 or so weeks and then back to maybe 2300? is that ok? thanks0
