Loosing in London

Hi All, what a great site. I wish I had found it before now. It makes things so easy. I started my weight loss in July 2012 when I weighed 231 lbs (then 39 yrs old and 5'8). I lost 30 lbs in the first six months by eating carefully and walking. My weight remained at 201 lbs until the end of July 2013. Then, on Aug 1st I started jogging. It was so tough at first. I'd jog for a minute, then walk for five minutes. Two and a half months later I'm jogging 5 kms every day, well, almost every day - I have occasional lazy days. Today I'm 185 lbs. I want to get to 165 lbs by Christmas.

I find the hasfit website great for workouts. I like the attitude and the kindness of the people there. I used to feel so depressed about my weight. Now, I'm enjoying the journey, and the smaller I get, the larger my mind becomes.

I have so much respect and love in my heart for all you people, especially those who face a particularly high mountain. It's true that every journey starts with a single step. Take it! It leads to a more abundant life.

  • Hello all U.K Losers :)

I'm in London so thought I would send out a big shout out to all of you!

I found the most difficult aspect of losing weight here in the U.K was to cut on alcohol. Often, socialising, especially in London where you have to commute to meet your friends, involves meeting people at the pub. I've been successful in limiting my alcohol consumption.

I walk 4.2 miles daily, go from home to the park and back.

I've started my weight loss journey in February of last year, and after a total loss of 16 kilos ( 35 pounds) I have reached a healthy BMI, though I am on the higher weight of the healthy weight spectrum. I can tell I need to lost another 8 kilos ( 17pounds) and drastically tone up before I am happy with my weight and physical fitness.
  • Well done everybody.
I'm in Hertfordshire! - and also struggling with cutting down on alcohol at the weekends, then the overeating the next day when I’m feeling delicate. ;-)
    Need some will power. 

    Hi there,

I don't live anywhere near London but a shopping (and museum) trip to London is going to be my grand reward when I reach my goal.
  • Dear God! What can I say? It was late when I composed and posted it. To make it worst I write for a living!!
  • Hi Littleguy
  • Thanks Catman
  • Sounds like a great day out! It's getting closer!

if you're going to be a smart *kitten*, you've got to be smart. the OP's spelling mistake is an orthographic error which has nothing at all to do with grammar.

Wow, that's amazing for you! What a wonderful accomplishment. I don't live anywhere near London either (I'm all the way in the states, Indiana to be exact!), but that doesn't mean I can't cheer on my fellow losers! :flowerforyou:

I just recently started jogging and can only go a minute or so at a time. I would love to eventually be considered a 'runner'. It gets easier every time I do it!

I've got 75 pounds to lose in total, but I'm making the small strides to accomplish my big goal!

    Keep on, keepin' on!

  • lol. that thought struck me on my run just now! You're a smart cookie!
  • Thanks for the cheer, xSirensSong. I'm looking forward to hearing about those pounds being shed and the jogging time being added to, minute by minute. Good luck and a loud cheer back!
  • Thanks Madiken4. I sure will add you and worked that bit of the site out. Thanks for your good wishes.
  • Go you! I'm proud of you. You've stuck it out and gain some awesome result! Keep it up! :D

To make it worse, I think.

Congrats on your loss. I am in London too. Shoreditch, but above the legal age limit for living there.
