From AZ ... First time using MFP

Hey all. I just discovered MFP after following some reddit subs and I really like what I see so far. I'm a 39 year old guy who lives in AZ and have been overweight my entire life. I've never known what it's like to be even an average weight. Lately, that's been making me increasingly miserable. I find that I'm not comfortable, ever, and that makes me isolate which easily leads to depression at times. I think it's time to do something about it.
I signed up for a local gym today. It's a 24 hour gym which is ideal for me since I work overnights and can head in there right after work at 4am when no one else is awake. I also went out and bout a fitbit tonight. Frankly, I don't know why. I'm not entirely sure I even know what it does and I definitely don't know how to use it. I'll figure it out though and it'll just be one more tool in my arsenal of weight loss gear.
I haven't weighed myself in quite a while but as I write this, I imagine I'm around 370 or so, wearing 4X shirts and size 48 waist pants. I want to look back on that line I just typed at some undetermined point in the future and be amazed at how far I've come.
That all starts with 30 minutes on a stationary bike at my new gym when I get off work.
Anyway, I don't know anyone who uses MFP. I'd like to give encouragement and would also love to receive some from time to time so if you want to add a new friend, please feel free. I'll be sure to add you back.

Hi! I am 5'5 and when I started on mfp I was about 205( 220 at my heaviest) which is considered about 70 lbs overweight. Yikes. I've been on mfp solid for a month today, and it really does help! Some of my weight I lost before mfp just working out, but since I joinedi it's helped me lose 11 pounds which Is extremely exciting!
I have 3 sisters and I have Always been "the fat one" and it was horrible. And I'm finally getting serious about it. My baby is my I inspiration, I want her to look up to, and want to be like me, I don't want this for her. Personally I don't have any health issues but the emotional issues are frightening and they really take a toll on you. So find your inspiration and don't let it go, even if it seems silly. If it's something that really matters to you, you're less likely to give up.
This weightloss journey is exactly that, a journey, it's going to take time, don't always count on the scale either! Take measurements look at yourself in the mirror, a lot of the time there will be changes the scale doesn't show!
Sorry I kind of went off there lol , anyway add me I'm always up for extra motivation and my diary is open, I've got pretty good handle on the nutrition part. If you need any help just ask I'm on this thing all the time!0 -
Thanks for the encouragement! Added!
And congrats on the 11 pounds so far! What a great start!0 -
Well, you've already taken some good first steps. Joining mfp has been a revelation to me. I had resigned myself to being fat for the rest of my life but I've finally found something that works for me. It's not a question anymore to me if I'll get down to normal weight but when. Don't be afraid to take it slow, learn how to log your food each and every day... the good and the bad. Use your fitbit to get you started on walking and moving. Good luck!0

Thank you!
I've used other sites to track my food before but I'm excited to be a part of this community and to learn all of the tools MFP has to offer.0
