Colleen...americanized version of Cailan = girl

Colleens have a deep inner need for quiet, and a desire to understand and analyze the world they live in, and to learn the deeper truths of themselves and others. They tend to be creative and excellent at expressing themselves. They are drawn to the arts, and enjoy life immensely. They are often the center of attention, and enjoy careers that put them in the limelight. They become involved in many different activities, and are sometimes reckless with both their energies and with money. The name fits...LOL

    Amy, Latin for "beloved".

My mom named me after the character in Little Women because she knew I'd be blonde-haired and blue-eyed. (Green, close enough.) And because, in her words, "even though she was kind of a b**** in the beginning of the novel, in the end she was the beautiful sister who moved to Paris and got the dreamy guy". Yup.

Sorry if you are in the middle of reading Little Women for the first time and I just ruined it for you.

Good thing she didn't name you after the sister that dies. Ooops! #spoileralert

Sheena-- My mom took my brothers to a circus and there was a monkey who's name was Sheena. Yep... named for a circus monkey.

In Hebrew it means God's gift. And what an awesome gift!!!
  • Also Amanda. I read somewhere once that it was created in the 16th century for a play. I think the previous common relative of our name was Ananda (yes that's an N after the first A).

    Strong. Highly Exalted, Noble.

add in my middle name - you get some added luck to that as well.

I take this to mean that I am a strong, lucky person - lacking the ability to fly under the radar as a troublemaker and probably going to start a major revolutionary movement at some point in the future.

Depending on what culture you pull it from, my first name is either a fertility goddess, "the most perfectly sized, beautiful, valuable pearl, or "god is my judge".
