Here I Am Again

I have been on a diet my whole life (except for the times when I wasn't because I was too busy regaining weight). I USED to have HUGE weight swings but somehow these past few decades have reeled it in to smaller ones (still too big though). So here I am again, I regained weight. Despite the numerous times I have vowed NEVER AGAIN, I always know I will probably be here again. And I am here again because in the back of my mind I told myself I would. I hate it when that happens. Anyway, I decided I better jump into this with both feet, and not just one toe. My plan is to count calories, journal my foods and maintain my exercise. Here's the kicker . . . I run about 27 miles a week, Yup, a great calorie burn but it leads into some really deceitful thinking. Despite the fact I run all those miles I can out eat my calorie burn - easily! Anybody want to head down this road with me?

You know I will, but minus the 27 mile runs. I have to get serious with staying within my daily daily calorie allowance. If I could lose just 5 more lbs in 2013, I'd be happy considering we're heading into the 'eating' holidays -- Thanksgiving and Christmas. What will help me this year (in theory) is that we're spending the last two weeks of December in Hawaii with my oldest son who scowls at me whenever I don't eat healthy. I created a monster!

Wouldn't you be more active in Hawaii too? That would be good. For some reason I typically do better in the fall and winter seasons. Makes no sense at all!

Yes, I will definitely be more active in Hawaii, especially since Fred will be there with me this time. And I can do well in the winter after the holidays are over, but the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are hard with all the tempting food.
