Looking for support

Hi all!
I've been a member on this site for ages, but will track for a while then slip back into old ways and not use the trackers for months at a time!
However, I now have a goal in mind in which I want to lose weight for and would be really grateful for some support, guidance and ideas to fit into my busy life!
I'm a carer, so work unsociable and erratic hours often starting at 8am and finishing at 8pm. What i'd really love is for some meal ideas that are quick, easy to make, keep me full for a long time and preferably be able to eat on the go!
I'm open to any ideas (i'm not vegetarian if that helps)!
I've got about 6 stone i'd like to lose, which I know will take time. I want to do this in a healthy way!
It'd be really nice to get some support from people who understand what I need to do. Friends and family around me don't quite understand, especially those with no weight problems!
Thank you!

I think I've been trying to lose weight my entire life, but I'm finally doing it now... 50 pounds down! It's hard when people around you don't understand, (or you just think they don't!) but that's why we are here! By the way.... I get almost ALL my recipes from skinnytaste.com0

Well done on your weight loss, that's amazing! I've always yo-yoed. I lost weight and kept it off for a while when younger but I was ill, and had all the time in the world to concentrate on what I was eating! The stuff on skinnytaste looks amazing, and I love the fact that all the calories etc are listed there for you! Thank you so much, it's the kick start I needed0

What seems to work for me ( I like quantity at lunch) is making some kind of sandwich (Like pb and j or turkey and cheese with mustard) and then sides that are very little calories.
Another entree I choose is to get a really low calorie chinese dish Lean cusine or Healthy choice tv dinner (Like sweet and sour chicken) and add a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter, and come crushed red pepper flakes to it and stir it all together. It tastes like thai peanut pasta and is still only about 320 cals!
Some sides I choose may seem like weird foods, but you can eat a lot more without overdoing the calories. Some sides I choose are pickles, green olives (if you pack some feta cheese stuffed kind they are only 10 cals each!) carrots w hummus, buffalo hot eggs, gerber baby puffs--these taste like cheetos are are 150 cals if you eat the WHOLE CONTAINER, beef jerkey, fat free pork rinds, meringue cookies (basically taste like flavored air but at least you feel like youre eating something), etc.
Like I said, some weird foods on that list but they are different than the usual veggies and fruit sides. I cant stand yogurt either, but do like cottage cheese with salt and pepper. If I have a chance I also sprinkle things with cayenne red pepper flakes or powder because I like spicy foods and they burn 10 extra calories per hour for the next 4 hours. Just by putting it on top of food.
Also, then I have to pack some small dessert to look forward to. Dark semi sweet chocolate chips, peanut butter on a graham cracker, 2 pieces of chocolate candy, etc.
Then I chew cinnamon or mint gum immediately after to make myself stop craving0 -
I told you about my weight loss / fitness tumblr, but never showed you it I don't think... here's the link http://sixskeletalbutterflies.tumblr.com/
I've re-blogged loads of recipes and links and inspiration on there. You should take a look, maybe start up your own one?

Jenny - I totally had to look up what buffalo hot eggs were, we don't get them in the UK! The idea of having a big lunch with loads of low cal extras is a good idea though, thank you!
Sugarmomma3 - 6 stone is 38kg/84lbs if that helps!
Caaat! Cheers dude, will check it out i'll even try some veggie things! Also, did you know the lighter you are, the quicker it is for you to get drunk? Making it a much cheaper night out for us! XD0 -
Veggie things can taste amazing just like regular meaty foods aha :P
Ahaha yes I knew that lol, that must be our goal then - to loose weight so we can get drunk quicker0
