Suggestions on Fair Food

I will be heading to my annual girls weekend this Friday. It is a large festival and as you can probably guess, lots of fair food! I plan to have a cooler with fruit, oat bars and rice snacks but when it is time to eat AT the fair, as a meal, what should I look for? Are Gyros good is I leave off the sauce? Any suggestions would help!

I hope you get some good suggestions - my rule for the Fair, as I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fair, is to have no rules. It's one weekend. I go into it preparede for fallout on the following Monday. I'm a fair food *kitten*. Best of luck to you.

There is almost always chicken- fried- but it's there- you can pick of the skin- (god such a waste) and save yourself calories there.

otherwise- to be honest- I'd just get a peice of pizza and be done with it- that always makes me feel full. LOL

but if you have fruit and carbs- find meat. nom nom nom

and funnel cake- can't go to the faire without funnel cake!

Agreed, pick two or three of your favorite fair food things and just eat them. For the day or two leading up to the fair, eat lighter than normal. Try not to go too overboard though. Eat somewhat sensibly but allow your self the pleasures of the fair.

    Don't eliminate, moderate!

At the last fair I was at, there were baked yams and corn for sale, as well as a booth that sold sauteed chicken or beef with veggies in a pita bun.

Use common sense, stay away from deep fried and sugary things, and you should be ok.

Although, if you HAVE to try something, share it with a friend, workout extra, and work it into your eating plan.

    Enjoy !!
