I am new to this site, and I am loving it. I am a very short woman and loosing weight for me seems so difficult. NO matter what I do, I still feel short and dumpy. My main exercise is walking and other suggestions????

I'm just under 5'2, and i've found that strength training has toned me up quite a bit. My WEIGHT is actually fine as it is, apparently. But anyone can clearly see i've too much fat/pudge/flab whatever you want to call it. So i've been doing mostly bodyweight strength training, or with the small set of dumbells (1lb,2lb + 3lb) i have0

I'm 5'2". I find lifting heavy weights to be effective. There are lots of resources. I started with "The New Rules of Lifting for Life" and now I do "Strong Curves".
Lots of other people do "Starting Strength", "Strong Lifts", "The New Rules of Lifting for Women", "The New Rules of Lifting Supercharged", and many many other programs and options.
Most of these are available either online or in book form.0 -
I'm 5'1. Cycling, Swimming and Trampolining have helped me alot this year, however I have not seen that much change in my legs. I went to Africa for a months camping expedition in which we did alot of walking and hiking. It helped by stomach but not my legs. I have started dancing now to see if that will make a differance.0

Hiya! :flowerforyou:
I'm Meagen, 5'2", and I'm addicted to picking things up & putting them down: With my arms, my legs, my abs, and my butt.
I usually do weight training & cardio right after, which consists of a brisk walk (about 3.5 mph) & a light jog (about 4.3 mph) intermittently. Without exercise, I was seeing no progress, so it's so very important. I also LOVE to hoop! It's so much fun, although my dogs look at me like I'm crazy in the back yard & occasionally get thwapped in the rear.
Take measurements! Weigh moderately on the scale! Don't get discouraged & befriend all the shorties you can!
Anyone who wants to, feel free to add me! :drinker:0 -
I am 5'2" and in the best shape of my life. I eat very healthy and combine cardio, weight lifting and body weight exercises in my workout routine.0

I'm 5 feet and half of an inch (that half inch is super important to this shortie!). I highly recommend HIIT (high intensity interval training) and weights! Weights will not make you bulk up, but what it will do is help you burn fat faster which will slim you down by getting rid of that "insulating layer" that so many of us don't love about our bodies (me included!) and then you can show off your great muscles! Start with low weights and work your way up. There are plenty of free videos on YouTube to get you started. Good luck!0
