Long story short, I have a 3 year old and have never bothered to get rid of baby fat. But now my problem is I literally cannot stop eating sweets, icecream and bad things! I have no motivation what so ever! I have no mates that really care or understand how depressed I am feeling when I look at myself, I have a major beer belly. Also my boyfriend doesn't help me because he says I looks good the way I am! Yuck! I need all sorts of opinions and help to get motivated, like how you started off, eating what, how much and do you ever have days off etc? What about drinking alcohol? And what shakes etc are the best to use to get rid of belly fat?

    Hey, Ellie --

If you do a search for the topics you want help with, there are a ton of threads with peoples' responses, already. The fact that you WANT to make a change is a great start!!! Everybody is different; for me, I started with a pretty intense 7-day "slim down" diet that was very restrictive...however, I credit that with completely turning me off to "bad" foods...literally! Now when I see doughnuts or anything fried for that matter, just the thought of all that grease and fat makes me want to throw up.

Lots of people have varying degrees of advice - just use the search, read through things, and try some stuff out; you'll probably have to tweak things along the way to do what's best/works for you, but it's a great starting point! :flowerforyou:

    Calorie deficit.

    Self motivate.

When you want it badly enough, you'll make it a priority.

edited to add: you dont have to stop eating anything...at all. just calculate a healthy deficit, and fit those things you love into it.
restriction always = fail for me.

Stand In Front of a mirror in your underwear, take a good long hard look at yourself! Now, you either find what you see as motivation for losing the weight or you need to consider the fact that carrying on with the way you are going will result in a far worse reflection in time to come. The best motivation comes from within. Don't do it for other people, do it for a reflection you would admire all day long.

And your bloke is in a very hard position. He's complimenting you because he loves you (and probably does think your gorgeous), however what's he meant to say!? He's dammed if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Imagine Putting down the sweets, treats and comfort food and imagine a better you. Now do it...

Edit- as far as what to eat ect. There are no magic foods. Eat whatever you want (leave the sweets for the kids tho) as long as it fits your macros and calorie allowance. Alcohol and fizzy drinks should be heavily moderated but don't cut out the things you enjoy completely, otherwise you won't be able to sustain the 'diet'. Exercise 3 times a week for 30mins a time. Go for fast paced cardio.

  • Just have a piece of a candy bar instead of the whole thing. Really think about weather it is worth going off track for. Or for every time you eat a sweet you would have to do 20-30 push ups. Regardless of how much you worked out that day. Youtube.com offers a lot of free work outs. I set up a play list for myself and switch it up so I am never bored. As for shakes. I highly recommend a plant based protein powder (hemp (no there isn't thc in it), Vega, Life basics, and Raw meal) with fruit and water (it will crave your sweet tooth with a natural source). Weight watchers works too. As for your significant other not being supportive I am going through the same thing with my BF. He claims I am perfect and there is no need to lose weight. I simply said you may not think so but I do. I am not happy with me I would appreciate your support regardless of what or how you feel. He said okay and that no matter how skinny of fat I am he loves me no matter what.

I see a lot of BS....and some good things. What it comes down to is this:

How bad do you WANT to change? Because if you don't, you won't.

I agree with everyone else. However I started with motivation, but very little education. So I began by walking (I was a very fat couch potato though) 4x a week, and just keeping track of everything i ate. After a week, i was horrified to find out that i was consuming so many empty calories, and learned how much you have to move to burn the same amount. THAT was what helped me to get my diet in check.
