The Great Spaghetti Squash Experiment of 2013

I'm sure there are hundreds of posts on preparing spaghetti squash, but at the requests of some awesome friends, here is my attempt!!
First, cut the squash in half, longways, from end to end. Then, scrape the pulp and seeds from the center of both halves. You should be left with a squash that looks like this:
Place both halves cut side down on a cookie sheet. Bake on 400 for 30-35 minutes. Be very careful when removing the squash, as they will be VERY hot. I let them cool for a few minutes, and then grab one half with an oven mitt. Using a fork, gently scrape the sides of the squash:
Continue scraping the "noodles" from the sides:
This plateful is from just one half of the squash:
Finally, top with some meatballs and marinara ... AWESOME!!

If you cut it around it's girth as opposed to lengthwise, you'll generate longer strands.0

I just made one for the first time last week to go with Creamy Italian Crockpot Chicken- it was so good. Ultimate comfort food! I also baked mine in the oven. I bought another one to have with the meat sauce hubby will be making on Friday. I also need butternut squash ideas, since I bought one of those also. YUM.0

I made spaghetti squash for the first time this week too! I added some sauteed zucchini to it as well. It was AMAZING!!
But I actually just poked holes in mine with a knife and cooked it whole and then cut it afterwards0 -

Good tip, thanks! Mine always come out too wet. So odd. I've only had 1 nice dry one. Does anyone have any tips?0 -

Can anyone tell me if you can buy spaghetti squash in Australia, and if so does it have a different name?0
