Weekend Calories?!

Hi! This weekend was my birthday and I went a little crazy with the food! I only had three drinks, so I am not concerned about the calories. Total, it was roughly 300 calories from alcohol.
I weighed in on Friday morning at 119 lbs. today (five days later), I weighed in at 122 lbs. I did eat extra on Friday (a lot), on Saturday, I ate within my calorie means. On Sunday I ate within in my calorie limits, but on Monday I did not. That means that for two days I ate right, and the other two days I went WAY over on calories. My daily goal is 1550 calories (to maintain) and I eat whatever I burn from exercise!
How should I get rid of these three pounds, or will they go away on their own?
Thanks!

You likely didn't eat 7,000 calories over (which is what it would take to gain 2lbs of fat), and even if you did, it likely wouldn't show up that fast. My guess is that it's water retention that is causing the scale to move up. Just get back to eating sensibly and maybe drink some extra water to help flush out the sodium. It will go away in a few days most likely.0

I find that after a weekend of "splurging", I show a small weight gain on the 2nd day after. For example, I went away for the weekend and the weight didn't register until Tuesday morning. I went back on plan first thing Monday morning and already today (Wednesday) the extra weight came off.
I found from logging all of my weekend restaurant foods that there is an obscene amout of sodium even in some of the healthier options. That is probably why you see a gain and yes, drinking lots of water will probably eliminate that. So I would say your best bet is to just get back on track and drink lots of water and that extra 3 lbs with disappear in no time.0 -
42, the answer is always 42.0

Yes.
And also, it's water. It will go away.0 -
Drink lots of water and soon you'll probably lose half of it by pooping.0

I don't know if this is the answer you're exactly looking for, but long story short, I think you'll be okay.
I'm 5'2'' and 94 pounds, and I'm trying to GAIN weight, hopefully get up to 110, maybe even 120. I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't think you need to worry about those 3 pounds... they won't make you look different at all and you're in a perfectly healthy weight range at 119 or 122... that's something I'm WANTING to have. It's certainly okay to go over your calorie "limit" once in a while. Everyone's body seems to have a "natural" weight it "likes" to be at, so as long as you're not going over that limit every single day, it will readjust itself over the next week or so. You won't be uncontrollably gaining weight from splurging once a week.
And yes, like most of the other posts are saying, drinking lots of water helps... Sodium and alcohol make you retain water because they naturally dehydrate you, so your body will want to retain as much water as possible when you don't have enough, or when you intake a lot of sodium or alcohol.
So... drink some water, don't worry too much about those couple of extra pounds, and just remember everything should be in relative moderation... even splurging0 -
Thanks for all the comments! I am hoping my weight will drop back down relatively soon!
Thanks again! If anyone else has any comments, please, go ahead0
