Don't be scared to LIFT HEAVY LADIES!!!

a9to.jpg

I've been lifting for almost a year now and I've heard ladies are scared to "bulk up". If anything my arms and legs are more defined than when i first started last year. My back is so much stronger and I've burned a good amount of fat around my body from lifting heavy. Definitely gained some muscle as well. My favorite part from heavy lifting is the strength and confidence I've gained from it! So don't be scared to give it a try! :)

What impresses me most is the changes in your face. You obviously have so much more inner confidence and strength as well.

If by "some" you mean "heaping mass of awesome," then yes...I suppose you have gained "some" muscle.

And yes, I totally stalked profile pics and have to agree--nicely done!!

    you look great :)
  • Oh god no!

Lifting weights is the best feeling. I use to thrive of this doing Les Mills body pump classes. I had great defined arms and my legs, well they were quite good!!

I'm a very strong woman to start with, but unfortunately I got bored as I was at the gym for 3 hours a night 6 days a week. Put most of my weight back and and now I'm working my way back to it.

I didn't just fall of the wagon, I fell off stumbled down a hill hit a bridge then fell off that and knocked myself out!!

But, pick myself up and do it again!!

Plus it's good for weight loss!!!!

You look so awesome! The transformation is incredible. Your muscles are incredible.

You did put on more muscle than folks often say about women, though (that's a great thing). Sometimes folks act like a woman has to struggle really hard to put on 3 lbs of muscle or something, lol. I love your results and for under a year, that's especially impressive! You go!
  • Wow!! thanks so much for the love guys!!!! :)

Thank you for sharing! This is awesome. Have you considered powerlifting competitions? Heh, not only would you likely be successful, but you might help inspire others too! :)

    Continued success to you!

I have though about it! But that means I have to hit the weight constantly and be REALLY STRONG! But I do compete in Scottish Highland games! Which is throwing weights, rocks and logs in the air!! :-D

That's something I've been interested in but don't think I'd be all that competitive because I don't have the size. Strongman is a blast too. I've done a few of those as a fun thing and they are a riot. One of my profile pictures is pulling 405 off blocks.

After reading everyone's posts and seeing the before and after pics, I am definitely going to start lifting. I was concerned that because I am an apple body type(heavy up top) that if I lift heavy I would have a more manly shape. But apparently that isn't the case at all! I am so excited about doing this...I can't wait. All of you look really great! Keep up the good work!
