Eating From The Cupboard

I find this is a big problem of mine.. I can easily sit down at a meal and take small portions of healthy food, or walk straight past candy without thinking twice, but I find my biggest problem is when eating from the cupboard. I'll just walk by and take a handful of nuts, or crackers, or dried fruit, and whatever is right there. I feel like it's a bit of an issue because often times I'll just stand there eating, and later I'll think it over and realize I just ate like 300 calories? What can I do to stop this? I feel like I do it without even thinking...

You can move food out of the cupboard, or post a sign to remind you, or take control of your demon hands.0

Have you tried adding things to your food diary before you eat them instead of afterwards? It makes it easier to be aware of what you're eating, you can't just snack on autopilot that way.0

Do you have a really high up, inaccessible cupboard that you can move the trigger foods to? That way it'll be a big pain in the @ss production to get to them when you want to.0

This exactly. And portion them out ahead of time, so you only take one serving, not the whole bag, box, or whatever.0
