I had my 2nd child about 7 months ago, and am having a horrible time with weight. I gained 50 lbs, and have yet to keep it off, I never had issues with my weight before this. What types of exercise should I start out my routine with?? How do I know the exact cal. intake??? I'm a bit confused and need some good advice!!!! Hope to have some great ideas on where to begin this adventure of mine!!

Walk. Put your little one in the stroller and go! Take drinks and snacks along to keep baby satisfied if he/she doesn't fall asleep. You can walk a lot longer that way.0

I would invest in a food scale and start my journey in the kitchen first and foremost... Get a handle on portion sizes and measuring your food and set a modest caloric deficit and hit your marco's.. Once you have a handle on that side of the equation then you can turn your concentration to the fitness side of this journey. But coming to terms with your eating habits is where I would start... Best of Luck0

I lost the first 40 pounds or so with little exercise beyond walking, this was probably the first 5-6 months. I first used MFP to log food to see what was going wrong, which I sort of knew. Logging thousands (or nearly) of calories in a day via huge portions and random snacking helped come up with a plan. I would say for me those first 40 pounds were virtually just eating less food, making menu plans and having the house stocked with healthy options. Agreed a scale is essential along with several sets of measuring cups and and spoons, no excuse eyeballing if the 1/4 cup is in the dishwasher. I still weigh just about everything, and things like cottage cheese, I have weighed and can use my cups for portioning out. Not all servings are what they claim they weigh, finding these differences is key to logging accurately.
Be thankful you're tacking this only 7 months after birth, for me it was 8 years....ugh, but all that weight is gone now, I have about 20 or more to go, which may take until she graduates.0
