How long do you keep your heart rate monitor on?

Just out of curiosity how long do you keep your HRM on after you've finished your exercise? I usually take mine off straight away but I just wondered if anyone kept theirs going for 15 or so minutes after? I have a polar FT7 I wear the chest strap and watch.
I noticed that you obviously keen burning calories after you finish and if anyone counts these?

I wear mine until I'm done cooling off and stretching and once I do my heart rate is back under 65% usually.0

I keep mine off until I'm finished with my cool down. For instance, if I walk to the gym at my apartment complex or go running, I don't take it off until I'm back to my apartment and finished with my stretches. It does add more calories, but the rate at which those calories are burned is certainly less because my heart rate is coming down.0

Your HRM will keep logging calories as long as you have it turned on. Once your HR comes back down below about 110 it ceases to be accurate anymore so if you're counting those extra calories they aren't correct. Unless you're really unfit your HR should be back down into a normal range within a couple minutes of finishing your exercise.0
