weigh food raw or cooked?

There seems to be a huge difference in weight pre and post cooking, whats the general consensus for calorie counting?

Cheers,

Andy

Most weights are uncooked/dry and most packages will tell you...also, if it doesn't specifically say "cooked" on the package then it's uncooked/raw/dry, etc. Meat should be weighed raw unless otherwise stated (as is often the case with bacon).

Its a two way street, if its weighed raw, then you lose water as it cooks and it changes weight, but some meats also lose fat when cooked, and less fat means less calories aswell. So in my opinion, if its cooked, just count it as if it was raw.
