can someone explain these pains i get?

Recently I have started adding salt to my diet like hot sauces and stuff to my meals and eating saltier foods such as cheese and sometimes bread, but ever since i started having a bit more sodium in my diet i keep getting these really soar pains at the back of my hips and lower back, like when i pull my trousers up on it i get a horrible pain and it feels like it's all bruised and swollen? it fades of though after a while but when i have more salt again it comes back the next morning? any suggestions? thank you.

Please, why are you trying to have more salt. Most people are encouraged to give it up.
  • because i was getting no salt at all! before i started adding things to my food my sodium was at like 100-200mg a day and i was told i need more salt.

Maybe it doesnt have to do with sodium intake. What are you doing for exercise?

Also, maybe have your kidneys checked out.

how much sodium do you have now?

I am asking because I used to have low sodium that caused my blood pressure to be too low (although that was accidental on my behalf and I got at least 350mg each day in veggies etc) so now I make sure I get at least 600-800mg and I am fine.

It does sound like kidneys. Who told you you needed more salt? Have you discussed this with a doctor?

How is that even possible? Almost everything has sodium in it. And how many calories are you eating?

Anytime you experience pain, you need to see a doctor as it can be a sign of something serious and it sounds serious to me. A normal checkup procedure that doctors do is pressing on your internal organs. Ask someone or you can do it yourself and press deep at different spots on your body with your hands to see if you can recreate the pain. If you find any pain or swollen organs, you need to see a doctor immediately. First thing that comes to my mind is cancer but it could be anything as I'm only throwing guesses like everyone else here. Get it checked out.

    agree w/ Absolute,
May be time to visit a doctor, get a professional opinion.

Sodium intake should be on the order of ~3000mg
I have seen people take in far more....
