BMI or Body Fat Percentage

According to CDC BMI Calculator:
For your height, a normal weight range would be from 95 to 128 pounds.

Yet, I use an Omron Body Fat Monitor. Based on my body fat percentage, my lean body mass is more than 10 pounds above the uppermost limit noted above(128 pounds vs. 133.4).

So my question is this.....

which method do you use to determine an ideal weight?

I don't care what I weigh. I care how I look and what my fitness is.

I'm confused. Your lean mass was estimated at 133.4 lbs? Also, are you 5ft tall?

    How you feel about yourself.

And if you're superficial or not.

@GeekyJock76, my lean body mass, based on a calculation of weight-(weight * body fat percentage), was estimated by the training staff to be 133.4. And yes, i am only 5' tall.

I go by both along with looking at my fitness level.

You gave us your lean muscle mass but not your body fat % as well btw.

I'm using BMI as the guideline to set my weight loss goals. Also paying attention to how I look and feel.

I honestly only pay attention to BMI when I review my health care plan at work every year to make sure they won't test for it (I would fail as overweight)

My goals are all around BF% (Trying to get to 10%)I think body composition is what everyone shoots for but most get obsessed with weight thinking it is the same thing. I feel bad for those people who reach their weight goals and still don't look like their goal body or athletic ability bc the composition is off and they do not understand why.
  • You will lose muscle as you lose fat so your lean body mass will change.

I have an ideal waist measurement as a physical marker, my goal weight is just an estimate. The last time I was at the fitness level and overall look I really liked I was about 130. I don't think I will be able to reach that kind of muscle tone again (due to lack of motivation at the moment) so I set it slightly in the skinny fat range.
